One morning I woke up to the sound of my brother, Mycroft, calling my name.
"Y/N!" He called out for me from his study room. Quickly, I got up and got dressed before he could call my name again. I opened my closet and pulled out a grey cotton dress and some brown boots.
I went downstairs, as fast as I could, and into my brother's study room. He was reading the morning newspaper like he always does. Mycroft was sitting down impatiently at his desk waiting for my arrival.
"Yes, brother?" I slowly walked towards him with a smile. I wasn't really close to him like I was with Sherlock. I also knew about Mycroft's plan on sending me to a boarding school, to teach me how to become a better woman...
I rolled my eyes in my head.
I always acted very woman like around my brothers, specifically Mycroft, but when I am by myself, I acted like myself.
I acted true.
"We are needed this lovely evening by our younger sister, Enola." Sarcasm laced in his words. "It appears that Mother is missing." He turned around to face me.
I looked at him in distraught. I felt my heart beat faster. I never really knew my Mother too well. But that doesn't mean I don't love her.
Sherlock walked into the room and looks at me. He walked over to me and put his hand on my shoulder. I assumed he had already heard judging by his face.
"Brother, have you heard?" I looked up at Sherlock. I had asked anyways just in case. He just nodded at me and took his hand off of my shoulder to walk over to Mycroft. Allowing them to stand right next to each other.
"I assume you must pack. I don't know how long we will stay. Hopefully not for long." Mycroft told me.
"Oh, yes. Let me just quickly pack I will be right back." I smiled sadly at my two brothers.
"And I will send a telegram to Enola, telling her to meet us at the nearest train station. I suppose." Mycroft said, sitting back down in his chair. I made my way back upstairs, grabbed a suitcase, and packed with haste. I walked back down the stairs.
I haven't seen Enola in forever
"Sorry to keep you waiting." I told them, with a slightly guilty smile. My brothers ignored it and start walking outside and towards the carriage that will be taking us to the train station.
As we got comfortable in the carriage, I looked at Mycroft and Sherlock and sighed loudly. "How do you think she looks like now? I mean, we haven't seen her in ages." I told my brothers.
"I'm sure Mother taught her well. She was always one for education." Mycroft tells me with a know-it-all tone. Sherlock looked at me and said, "He isn't wrong." Knowing what I was thinking.
I had to admit I was nervous about seeing Enola. I mean who couldn't? I haven't talked to her at all ever since we were separated.
I felt guilty.
I kept myself busy by looking out the window, trying not to worry about it. She wouldn't be upset...
Right?
After a while of just staring out the window, I saw the train station appear. I smiled brightly in anticipation. The worry was gone and now replaced with happiness.
The carriage had come to a halt and one of the servants open the door for me and my brothers. I was the first to exit, then it was Sherlock, then Mycroft. We all started walking towards the train and into it to find ourselves an empty compartment to sit peacefully in.
After a while on the train, I felt the train come to a stop. I quickly look out the window to see people waiting to board the train.
I took a deep breath in, and out.
"Y/N, let's go." Mycroft told me, already starting to stand up and walk out of the compartment and to the exit. I followed them nervously.
I grabbed my gloves and hat from my handbag and put them on.
And took another deep breath before catching up to Sherlock and Mycroft. Trying not to get lost, I walked right in between them. That is until we have to split up because there was this young lady, quite like myself, standing in the middle of the walkway.
I just smiled at her politely while walking passed her. I then reconnected with my brothers until I heard someone call out our names.
"Uhh... Mr. Holmes, um Ms. Holmes, and uh, Mr. Holmes..." The young lady we had just passed called with an unsure tone very evident in her voice.
I had slightly glanced at them before we all collectively slowly turned around to face her. She walked towards me and said. "You sent for me? You sent a telegram? Asking me to meet you here?" She looked at all three of us.
I slowly looked up at Sherlock, while he looked at Mycroft. All three of us looked at her confused. I sort of tilt my head to the side.
"Enola?" Sherlock says in a shocked tone.
