Rejuvenation

Chapter 11

Lilith was beyond furious when she left Falos's house, the whirlwind of emotions inside her was killing her. She wanted to be mad but she couldn't if that girl made Falos happy she would have to bare her. She was just disappointed and slightly hurt, she wanted to scream and unleash everything but she knew that it wouldn't solve anything. She took a deep breath and pushed everything deep inside of her, she would deal with this pain in silence. She blinked slowly standing in front of her house, she was going to turn off her emotions for a while. Not literally turn them off, there wasn't a switch or something but there was this part of her that didn't care about much and she would be that woman until she was ready to process everything. A numbness spread throughout her body and she smiled an eerie smile, time for the next contest.

*kinda short time skip*

Lilith made her way to the ballroom of her home, everyone was already there, they had weeks to practice with a trainer before this event so she expected this to end quickly. Falos looked at her quizzically, she was never late for an event usually she was early. She didn't even look at him, she wouldn't give him the satisfaction. She wasn't dealing with this today. "Alright you guys already know that today is the simulation test," Lilith said meeting their eyes, she tried to give a smile she really did but there was no feeling in it. Everyone could tell her vibe was darker and duller. "Does anyone want to go first? No?" she said looking at the four of them. "Alright well thennnn" she said in a singsong voice "Atlas you're up" she spoke softly giving the other contestants goosebumps. Falos begin getting the serum ready for the simulation while Lilith explained the rest of the rules. "In the simulation, you will face your biggest fear, if you can beat that fear or aren't scared anymore you will escape the simulation. If you can not you will stay in it for a while longer and when you wake up you will be disqualified. The amount of people going home today is up to you". As soon as Atlas was under the screen lit up and they could see her simulation, her fear was birds, huge birds. A small grin lit up Lilith's face, this would be an interesting one to see. They had 5 minutes to beat their fear if they went over they were out. She calmed down enough to escape 3 seconds before it hit 5 minutes.

Falos nodded at her "You may rest now" he said pointing to the stairs that led to the bedrooms. Next up was Cyrus. Lilith had no idea what his fear would be but almost giggled when she did find out what it was. He was scared of fish. Falos glared at her, he didn't know why she was acting like this but something was definitely up. Her eyes usually sparkled when she talked and this little smile would always be on her face but today her eyes were dull. He

knew she was upset with him but he didn't think she'd do anything drastic, he'd have to ask her about it after the challenge.

Cyrus didn't get out of his fear until about 7 and a half minutes. They gave him the money and sent him home to his family. Next up was Xola, the fear in her eyes was priceless. Lilith didn't know what to expect but it certainly wasn't her and Falos's faces. The simulation gods screamed awful things and her and Liliths jaw dropped. There was this whirling in her abdomen of guilt and hurt and so many different things. She let the numbness kick back in and she yawned leaning back. She beat her fear in 4 minutes. Last was Erebus, who's fear was scorpions. He, unfortunately, did not make it.

When that was over Lilith got up to leave and Falos stopped her at the door. He stood in front of her and looked down at her. The emotions in his eyes were pissing her off, he knew she didn't want to even look at him right now and here he was confronting her. "Can you move?" she asked trying to step around him.

"I'm not moving until we talk this out, I don't like when you're mad at me" he said looking down at her with this stupid look that usually worked in her forgiving him. She growled spinning around and going to the other side of the room to the window. She knew this would make him mad and she was right. "Lilith come back! What do you want me to do?! What did you do? You're different from yesterday! You're not thinking clearly! Get back here.."

She turned hanging halfway out the window. The hurt in her eyes shook them both, they had fought all the time but this one was a different type of difficult. "I'm supposed to be your best friend Falos. I don't care anymore, think about that" she said glaring and jumping out and onto a tree branch before climbing away.

Time heals all wounds.

Xola wandered around Lilith's castle. After facing her fears she was anxious and nervous, she knew that Falos and Lilith had seen her fear. She didn't want to face them, she was so embarrassed, they probably thought different of her. She was walking around the halls when she heard a peculiar noise coming from the hallway to her left. She crept up to the hallway and peered her head around. Her mouth opened in surprise before she put her head back around the corner. There was a girl at the door of the room that contained the dragon egg. There was a girl pressing buttons trying to figure out the passcode and talking on the phone. There was mumbling on the phone and the girl responded giving out an irritated sigh. "I'm

trying, I'm not super close to him yet. It's this stupid bitches house anyway, I don't know what the passcode could be. I'll get her secrets out of him eventually, just give me more time."

The voice on the phone mumbled angrily in response and the girl responded angrily by slamming the phone down. The footsteps were coming closer to where Xola was hiding so she quickly ducked into a darkened hallway. All that she could see was icy blue eyes and blonde hair with white streaks as she swished from around the corner. Xola sighed, it was time to do some detective work.
