Arianna woke up from her nap forgetting where she was. Seeing the blue and brown walls covered in drawings from all the times all those annoying kids had drawn on them, she remembered she was in her living room with Mychale.
"Mychale? Mychale? Wake up! Wake up!" The little brown headed girl, with such piercing brown eyes people were always reminded of brownies said, as she shook her best friend awake.
"Go back to bed Arianna!" Neither Mikey or Ari were morning people but on this special occasion Ari was just tired of sleeping.
"But I'm bored! Lets go eat the snacks before my mom wakes all those other annoying kids up!"
Jumping up and almost kicking her surprised friend Mikey took off running towards the kitchen without another word. Ari right on her heels, and always being the leader started giving Mikey orders. "Mikey, get the crackers off the bottom shelf of the cupboard, i'll grab the cookies."
Both girls went on there missions and five minutes later were about to head upstairs to Ari's room when Martha, Ari's mum, entered the kitchen.
"Girls?" Martha asked, she had just realized they weren't sleeping on the floor with the rest of the kids and heard little voices coming from the kitchen. Upon entering the kitchen the voices stopped and neither girl was anywhere to be seen.
"Shhh it's my mom act innocent." Ari exclaimed afraid all the goodies would be taken away if they were caught.
"Where could those girls be? honestly how many places could there be for three year olds to hide? It's hard enough to take care of the ones I'm getting payed to watch let alone my own daughter and her best friend. Girls?"
Both girls laughed as Martha left the room feeling as though they had tricked her. All of a sudden Mikey became very serious and looked at her best friend with a puzzled expression.
"Ari, how come your mum couldn't see us? We were standing right in front of her."Without another thought her friend gave a sly smile and proclaimed
"The advantage of being little is people don't see you. Lets savor it as long as we can." With that she headed for the door leaving Mikey in wonder."But she was..." The puzzled girl trailed off before chasing after her friend, knowing very well she would be picked up soon.
"Come on let's just get out of here before she comes back." Ari said grabbing her friend by the hand.
"Um ok but my mum is going to be here soon so if we want to eat all the snacks before the other kids can we better start eating now."
" That's what I'm thinking! I guess the old saying is right, beautifully gorgeous and amazing people do think a like." Ari claimed grinning.
Mikey laughed knowing that was not the old saying her friend was talking about, but she knew even if she mentioned it there was no way she was going to succeed in changing Ari's mind, so she just continued to laugh as she ran upstairs trying to be as quiet as possible so Martha wouldn't hear her.
As the girls lay on the floor gobbling up the last of the snacks they sat back poking at each other.
"No wonder your so fat Ari, you eat so much!""Oh whatever, you eat as much as I do, if not more." Ari responded quickly.
"Only when I'm with you, I don't eat much at home. Mum says I'm too fat as I am now, that's why she makes me workout with her every night. Even though it doesn't do her any good." Mikey said sadly.
"Well I promise you're not, parents should make you feel confident about yourself not the other way around." Ari defended.
"Ya I know, but oh well my parents aren't really classified as normal parents, thank you though."
