Kyungsoo woke up to birds singing.
It was weird how love made people pay attention. Kyungsoo had never really paid birds any heed before, but after encountering Jongin, everything around him, including nature, seemed more vivid and alive.
It was like living in a new world and, frankly, Kyungsoo enjoyed it thoroughly. The things he now saw and heard were amazing. There were colors he'd never known existed now visible to his eye, and sounds that resembled musical symphonies rang in his ear.
Long story short; this was the life.
He turned his head towards the closed window. Snow crested the outlines of Jongin's shutters, twinkling like glitter from the sunlight beaming down onto the snowflakes. It looked almost like sugar had been sprinkled all over Jongin's house.
Kyungsoo's gaze then ventured to who was laying on the bed next to him. The person occupying the space was still, face buried in his pillow, hair wild from whatever escapade he'd been experiencing in his sleep.
Kyungsoo's hand reached out to graze his fingernail along whatever hint of cheek was exposed to him. The skin immediately blushed a light crimson. Kyungsoo bit the inside of his own cheek.
"How long have you been awake?"
The sheets rustled almost inaudibly as Jongin moved to face him. "A while."
"Why didn't you wake me up?"
"Because I'm a perverted, creepy, pedophile who likes to watch you sleep?"
Kyungsoo huffed at the sarcastic remark and landed into Jongin's arms when they spread open in an inviting fashion. He buried his face in the crook of Jongin's neck. The younger man's arms fastened around his waist like seatbelts, tight and secure, not willing to let him go.
Jongin's fingers slithered through his hair, brushing the strands like a comb. A breath flowed from Kyungsoo's mouth onto his skin, comfortable and joyful, letting Jongin know his touches were gladly appreciated.
His hand then flattened on the back of the older's neck, pulling his head closer for a morning kiss. It was chaste and pure, and he savored the taste of Kyungsoo's lips. The morning was the best time for kisses; no other flavors interfered. Jongin tasted only Kyungsoo, and Kyungsoo tasted only Jongin.
Kyungsoo's eyes shimmered up at Jongin like the snow outside when they pulled away from each other. The dark orbs melted Jongin's heart. The happiness pooling in them was as hot as boiling water.
"Good morning."
Jongin cupped Kyungsoo's face. "Same to you, egghead."
Jongin's hands left his face and slid underneath him. Kyungsoo felt himself being lifted up off of the mattress. He relaxed in Jongin's hold (feeling like a princess really eases whatever tension you have in your body) and laid his head on the younger man's shoulder.
Jongin carried him into his bathroom. The door flew shut as his foot kicked it to a close, banging on its hinges loudly enough to wake up his parents. Kyungsoo's fingers toyed with the collar of his wife beater.
Jongin's breath hitched feeling Kyungsoo's nails tap dance across his collar bone. "We need to take a shower before school."
Kyungsoo smirked up at him. "We need to or we want to?"
"We both know we want to but for the sake of the children, we'll say we need to."
What the hell is he talking about? "For the sake of the children?"
"Always for the children."
Jongin lowered Kyungsoo down to the cold tile floor. He forced the older against the wall and began to strip him of the pajamas he'd leant him the night before. Jongin's tongue lapped at his lips each time another layer of cloth was discarded.
