Hermione took them in the palace. Once away from his Father's cold gaze, he sighed in relief and gave her a hug. "you look beautiful Granger, or should I say your highness? How was the move to here?" Draco said with his signature smirk. "ha ha. Well I have to say it was shocking and little scary. I like my parents and the palace but..." her voice faltered, and she stared at the ground. Draco used his fingertip to tilt her chin so her face could face him. She had the same scared look as when he comforted her for the first time. "what if I can't handle the attention, what if people think me some spoilt rich brat?" Hermione spilt out her insecurities to him and Virgo. Virgo gave her a comforting pat on the shoulder. Draco talked to her like he had done on the night of the Yule ball, "remember you were always a princess. You had the best grades since first year, your kind, caring and concerned and you can pack a hell of a punch at anyone who disagrees." That made her smile a little. But then she said again, "look, these clothes, this attention, this isn't me. I'm just that kid who reads in the corner of the classroom."

Hermione had to stop thinking so low of herself. He said, "nah. You don't know how many heads you turn when you walk past, or the reputation you've got. You're literally the brightest witch of the age. Plus, your going to have even more of a killer rep after people read the article. But seriously Granger think about it, you have the power to change the world, to change peoples' perception of others. How many kids our age get that? Even I don't and I'm from like the elitist pureblood family there is, not boasting." That sentence seemed to make her eyes light up. He knew that ever since Hermione was a child, she had wanted to prove that being muggle born made you no different from anyone else. She had always wanted to be a leader, a game changer, leave an impact on the world. So now he had made her realise it was her chance. Hermione fiddled with her hair a little, she was thinking. "thanks Draco. Is it weird that I feel like I've known you my entire life. I'm an open book in front of you. No one reads me so well." And she tackled him with a hug.

He hugged her back, inhaling her cinamony scent. Virgo being the prat he was, interrupted their hug, "woah, don't get too lovey-dovey in front of me." and then Hermione playfully punched him. her eyes went in a faraway look and then snapped back to them. "oh no. ok so, I completely forgot, there's this ball soon, at the end of winter break to celebrate my return or whatever... do you both want to come? I suspect my parents already formally invited you and your dad, but I'm inviting you because you're my friends. I'm going to invite Harry and Ron too, and maybe some people from Hogwarts." She got into planning mode and Draco and Virgo had to shake her out of it. overall, for Draco it was a good day. Later, Virgo went to help his father in the business because he was the older child, or heir.

Hermione's POV

To settle the business deal, or stocks or what they were doing, Mr Malfoy decided to 'graciously' accept the offer the stay at the Palace for a night. Virgo and Draco stayed too. Virgo had gone to bed already, and Hermione and Draco were alone, under the cherry tree. They were lying on a blanket they had found in one of the supplies closets and looking up at the stars. Hermione looked at Draco and said, "I used to spend hours staring at the stars when I couldn't sleep." Draco smirked and quipped, "I didn't know Hermione Granger would be breaking rules." She pulled him close and hugged him. he didn't know how important he was to her. To start up a conversation, she asked about one of her favourite books. "have you ever read Romeo and Juliet?" Draco tilted his head towards the sky and replied, "yea. But I disagree with one part. If I was Romeo, I wouldn't stand around whispering on a balcony to Juliet. I would bloody just get her down and run away with her wherever. It would make the entire story better, plus Romeo would have saved their lives." Hermione laughed. "but that part's the one that makes the story the most memorable. Two lovers fighting for love, and then they finally get to be reunited in death."
