They showed her the entire palace but what wowed her the most was the huge LIBRARY. It had a mixture of muggle and wizarding books and Hermione could spend hours in there. When they were in the garden though, she heard a silent click, but assumed it was nothing. She spent the entire day with her 'parents' (it still felt weird to call them that) and then went home to the Grangers. They hugged her and made everything better. She fell asleep with a smile on her face and realisation that it was better like this, now she had two sets of parents who loved her unconditionally.

When she woke up to the sound of the owl for the daily prophet pecking on her window she got a great shock. On the front page was HER with the headline 'long-lost princess finally found! The picture was clearly taken yesterday when she went to the palace for her magic Cinderella makeover. How did the public know so fast?! Her parents had told her that it would be released in a week, giving her some breathing room. But this was released just yesterday. Hermione had been planning to tell her friends before the whole wizarding world. Merlin's pants, what was she going to do? She went back to the palace at 11 o clock for some lessons. Her parents engulfed her with her hug and they told her they would try to do some damage control so the news wouldn't be that bad for her.

But the real question was, how did anyone know she was found? No one was supposed to know except her sets of parents and some palace staff. No one could have known where she was at the precise time. Then her mind went back to yesterday. In the garden hadn't she heard a 'click'? at that time Hermione had assumed it was an insect, but it could have been a camera. But who was the mystery reporter who had come there? While she was having all these thoughts, Hermione was strolling through the palace garden. It was well kept and had some places where she could just sit down with a good book. But now, it was providing her comfort from her to fast going life. How was she meant to become a princess, with the perfect poise and words in just a few days? She was but a fifteen-year-old girl. Right now, what she wanted was her friends, Harry, Ron, Ginny, Virgo and Draco. They could comfort her when she was feeling especially down. And Hermione didn't even feel like herself anymore. She didn't own clothes like this. She was wearing silk cream blouse with some embroidery and a black pant. Her hair was done up in a messy bun with some sort of diamond encrusted clip keeping it the way it was.

Hermione sat down under her favourite place in the whole garden, an old cherry tree. The branches of the tree made it seem like almost a room, if that was possible. Its boughs spread out and made a sort of canopy above her. Hermione felt safe in the tree, it protected her. She could cry all her sorrows under that tree, and no one would know. Then, she spotted the white-blonde hair again. Who could be coming into the palace now? She got up to investigate. To her surprise, Lucius Malfoy, Draco and Virgo were present. Lucius Malfoy was having a conversation with her parents, from what she could understand about the kingdom's money and... her. Wanting to find out what it was about, she hesitatingly approached her parents. "Mother, Father I hope I'm not interrupting anything." She said as if she happened to be passing by.

Draco's POV

Draco's Father had taken Draco and Virgo to the palace about the lost princess or whatever. He hadn't showed him or Virgo the prophet so they both didn't know who she was. His father had taken them to the palace to show them how he did business with the royal family. He thought it was a good learning opportunity for them. So, Draco's father was talking about stock and stuff, and then a brunette came up to the royal family, did she have no manners? You couldn't just walk up and interrupt their conversation. Then, he got the shock of his life when the royal family introduced the girl as their daughter, the long-lost princess, Hermione Rose Sussex. She turned her head and her chocolate brown orbs met his grey ones. It was his Hermione. She always looked beautiful, but today she had some makeup on, with her hair styled and was wearing clothes fit for a Malfoy, she looked even better than usual. She smiled at the brothers and gave a little wave, clearly hating the attention.

Looking at her, Virgo gave a low whistle and whispered to Draco, "hey bro your girlfriend's a princess." And then he giggled slightly. Draco thought, "urgh my brother the hopeless romantic probably figures this as some fairy tale romance, a boy in love with a princess and whatever." Draco wanted to run up to her and kiss her, but he couldn't. his father was present, and he wouldn't approve him doing so. Besides only Potter, Weasley and Virgo knew about them. And now they were kind of alright with it. granger whispered something to her parents again and motioned towards Draco and Virgo. The Queen nodded and said, "well my daughter seems to know your sons Mr Malfoy, perhaps they would like to accompany her, I'm sure they wouldn't want to wait around while we continue our meeting. Speaking of which, would you like to adjourn to the sitting room?" Draco's father coldly nodded towards them, his form of acknowledgement. Draco and Virgo relieved, followed Hermione, they did want to get away from this meeting.

A/N: So, hello after a long while. I'm sorry for not posting for so many months, and the reason for that is I was trying to write another story for the wattys this year and wanted to focus more on it. It's not on wattpad yet, just on my phone but I plan to upload it by the end of August :)

P.S. It won't be fanfiction, it is my own story
