Emily
I admit, this was not one of my better ideas. Of course, it turned out beautifully on her, but I should've known better than to make her look better against her will. Especially given the permanence of this particular situation.
She was not happy, and I ended up feeling like the worst person ever.
I knew Sarah thought I was insane, but she gave up running away from me after an hour's worth of bugging and pestering her in both real life and via social media to let me dye her hair anyway. If I didn't think she would look so so pretty with dark hair temporarily, I never would've been so pushy.
"I cannot believe I let you talk me into this," Sarah's shoulders fell, the realization causing her shoulders to droop as her hands moved anxiously.
I laughed, continuing to spray her hair with the brown color, "Oh please, you'll love the way it'll turn out."
I knew my sister better than I knew myself. She didn't even see the potential, but I did.
Besides, would it hurt to know what our face would look like with brown hair framing it? Brown hair and blue eyes was always such a gorgeous combination.
Apparently it did hurt her soul.
Unfortunately for us both, the spray can ran out of the color. Sarah's hair was splotchy with brown and blonde like an artificially flavored chocolate and vanilla swirl pastry, which probably tasted fantastic, but didn't fit Sarah's personal hair color preference. This probably would not have happened if she hadn't made me chase her around our room and the entire building with it, by the way!!
"You know what? I trust you to make it look nice," Sarah decided at the worst possible time to decide.
She was going to freak out so hard and kill me.
"Of course it'll look good!! Just- I should buy a better hair dye," I replied weakly, pushing a smile. I tied up Sarah's hair into a bun to keep it out of her line of sight.
I knew one look in the mirror would probably send her into a whole fit of tears and rage. I scooted her chair around so she'd face the wall, then shoved our mirror upside-down under her bed. Before grabbing my key, Sarah obviously noticed.
