WILD GRASS

Oh! Your leaves are glossy and green.

Your beauty needs no flowers.

Your scent makes you free.

You own no jungle you aren't famous.

You trust the begging of snakes.

You sheltered the ladybugs

And feed the murmuring goats.

You helped the forest breath.

You are the glory of the wild.

But why chose to also

Sit beside a flower?

Be overgrown by their leaves

Rejected by the scent.

Sprout to be uprooted

And thrown to a shameless fire.

Oh! Pity dear.
