 Rik's POV:

I ran alongside the spider hybrid that swung from tree to tree with her webs. My metallic leg clanged against the ground and spurred as I scrambled after the spiderized hermit.

" Cleo!" I shouted causing the six armed spider woman to stop moving and hang from one of her strings of web. I breathed heavily and gasped for breath as my head spun, " C-Could you slow down? M-My leg... It's not great on dirt, branches, and vines, ya know?" I gasped as my shoulders drooped.

Cleo frowned at me as her many arms crossed, " I didn't think about that... I was more focused on hunting your friend down." she shrugged her shoulders. I grimaced slightly, " Please don't use 'hunt him down' as a phrase... Ash is still himself... Just like Price is..."

I rubbed my arm with a frown. Cleo walked over to me and shoved the arms that were connected to her shoulders into her jeans. Cleo let out a sigh causing her sharp fangs to show. I frowned as I stared at her in silence.

" Right... I shouldn't have said that." Cleo admitted with a small shake of her head. I looked back down the path and crossed my arms, " Jasmine can handle Price on her own... She's both a vampire and a witch which is a very good monster combination."

The hermit nodded at me, " Speaking of monsters, what kind of monster are you?" she questioned as I stared at me. I straightened up slightly. Should I come clean? Should I tell someone else this really daunting curse that's been forced upon me but now lost?

I let out a heavy sigh as I fixed at my hoodie sleeves. My entire body shuttered as I motioned with my head for her to follow so we could continue. A deep sigh escaped from me as I shrugged my shoulders.

 " So, I am human."

 " Just human?"

 " Just human."

" How?" Cleo questioned as her eyes opened even more. I shook my shoulders and rubbed at my arm again, " W-Well, I won't go into the full story, but I will tell you that I was cursed before this whole mess happened to the servers."

" I was cursed to be part demon, and when this curse hit everyone, I turned back to normal." I explained as I jumped over a downed log. The log had some deep scratch marks in it.

We were on the right track in order to find Ash.

Cleo frowned, " How do you feel about being back to normal?" she questioned as I shrugged, " If I was human while the others were still human, I would feel better about being back to normal..." I sighed as I looked down at some broken branches; the twigs snapped until my feet as I shuddered slightly.

The two of us continued to walk through the forest until we reached a dead end where a giant bear was desperately trying to climb up the rock roll. Cleo and I looked at each other and hid in order to watch the werebear.

Ash was clawing at the stone wall and whining in pain as his ears went back. The bear stood on his hind legs and shook until he plopped over and let out a loud, sad roar. I frowned as I watched Ash tug at his ripped shirt in order to try and take it off.

I looked towards Cleo, " How long 'til sunrise?" I questioned as I continued to stare at my monstrous friend. Cleo took out her communicator and stared at the time, " One hour." she nodded her head as I nodded back at her.

I took a deep breath as I walked out of our hiding spot. Cleo's eyes widened, " R-Rik?!" her eyes widened as I walked down the path and towards Ash. One hour.

" Ashley!" I called out causing the bear to sharply turn towards me. The bear let out a loud growl and pushed himself against the cliff wall. I moved closer to him with a lower of my shoulders, " Ash, It's me, Rik! Your friend..." I raised my hands as the bear growled again.

" Rik, you're a bloody idiot!" I heard Cleo's sharp whisper as I shook my head, " I know that Ash is still in there... He should be able to hear me now that it's almost sunrise..."

I continued to walk towards the bear as he growled and lowered himself to the ground, " Ash..." I spoke in a low voice as I reached my hand out towards As-

 CRACK!

I was knocked to the ground and felt my robotic leg break from Ash tackling into me. My whole body was in shock as I stared at the werebear. Ash growled at me as some drool dripped onto my face. I shrugged as the bear pinned my arms down and breathed hot air against me.

 I... I really didn't think this through.

Ash sniffed at me until some webbing grabbed his muzzle and yanked his mouth straight up causing him to roar and shake. I raise my head in order to watch as Cleo wrapped the bear up in a strong, white webbing. The only part of him that wasn't covered was his eyes.

Cleo looked at me as I frowned, " S-Sorry..." I mumbled as I forced myself to sit up. I flinched and grabbed at my sore self; every muscle, nerve, and bone in my body was twitching as I looked down at my bended robotic leg. That's going to take a while to fix.

I looked up towards the sky as light started to shine down upon us. I yawned as I followed the light until it landed upon my friend's body, and his large, fuzzy self slowly shrunk down into a small, fluffy bear that was curled up in the webbing.

" He's... hurt." I mumbled as I forced myself to stand and wobbled slightly. Cleo held two of her left arms towards me as I shook my head and pushed back the spider in order to lift up my friend.

Ash panted in my arms as I slowly waddled back towards home. Cleo followed slowly behind me as the birds chirped their morning songs as we walked in silence.
