Mannequin

Author's Note: I could've made this story way more creepier, but I didn't really have a way to make it like that. Mannequins are freaky on their own. I think I'm either going to do one or two more oneshots before returning to Mightyverse stuff.

 Anyways Enjoy :)

 Mumbo's POV:

I landed at the shopping district and looked around. Grian had messaged me saying that he found something weird at one of his shops. I tried to ask him what, but he went radio silent afterwards.

Now, I called Iskall to come help me investigate Grian's message further. Iskall was standing outside of the Grian's Barge and was looking into the shop; he was tilting his head every now and again.

" Iskall?" I I called out to him as I landed and briefly stumbled. Iskall looked at me, " I'm going to pretend that I didn't see that." he shook his head as I narrowed my eyes, " Be quiet." I grumbled as I looked into the barge.

Almost immediately, I saw what Grian messaged me about. It was a white-ish yellow figure. It wasn't wearing any clothes and was positioned in a way that one of its arms were outstretched. The other arm was behind its back.

 It was a mannequin.

I tapped Iskall's shoulder and pointed towards the mannequin. The hermit nodded, " Yeah, I can see that... That's what I was looking at before you showed up." he shuddered slightly, " It's kind of freaking me out."

I nodded and the two of us entered the barge. Still, we stood a good distance away from the mannequin. Since when were mannequins in the game? There were armor stands yes, but Cleo couldn't decorate them to look like a store mannequin.

The mannequin remained stationary as I looked at Iskall. I grabbed Iskall and gently shoved him forward. The Swede looked back at me and narrowed his eye, " ... " he scowled in silence. I shrugged my shoulders as I gave him an awkward thumbs up. I awkwardly grinned as Iskall rolled his eyes.

" Alright... I'll go check it out... Keep your sword out though." Iskall raised his eyebrow as I nodded. I took out my netherite sword and watched as the hermit approached the human-sized figure.

I shuddered slightly as sweat dripped from my forehead. I whimpered causing Iskall to look at me again, " Why are you shaking so much?" he questioned as he yelped and tumbled to the ground.

I gasped as I ran around the pile of shulker boxes and looked down at to what tripped Iskall.

" Grian!" I gasped as I kneeled down and rolled the bird hybrid's body over. I stared in silence as Iskall rolled over and sat up in order to look at what he tripped over. I slowly moved my fingers and grasped one of Grian's closed eyelids. Grian didn't twitch as I forced the eye opened and froze up, " Oh goodness, that's horrible..." I moved back and froze up.

" G-Grian's p-p-p-pupil. It's... It's gone." I stumbled over my words causing Iskall to tilt his head and move closer. Iskall forced both of Grian's eyes open and blinked, " Oh man..!" he gasped, " Both of them are gone." he looked up at me.

Iskall stood up and fixed his hoodie, " Okay... So, that mannequin clearly did something to him..." he frowned as I stood up, " Well, of course it did mate!" I frowned as Iskall raised his hands, " Calm down Mums..." he picked his sword up and resumed his careful walk towards the mannequin.

I stood there and looked between Grian's body and the mannequin. My body shuddered slightly. This felt wrong. All of this felt horribly wrong, and it's honestly bloody terrifying. Iskall stared blankly as he touched the mannequin's shoulder with the tip of his blade.
