Baby Nest

Iskall's POV:

 Imagine being woken up in the very early morning by a distress call from Rendog. Image flying over to Grian's old hobbit hole of all places. 

 I glided down towards the building and spotted Ren chewing on one of his blackened nails as his fur fluffed up. 

 " Hullo Ren?" I tilted my head as I landed onto the ground. Ren's ears perked up as he turned towards me.

 " Iskall! Oh Iskall, it's terrible my dude." Ren shook his head, " Me n' Grian were sorting through his old base for anything useful when a fox man stumbled into the base." he explained as he motioned for me to follow. 

 Ren continued to explain how the fox's eyes were glowing a weird pink color, and how he ended up biting Grian before falling to the ground. It turned out that Grian told Ren to find someone to help, so Ren ended up calling me. 

 I nodded my head and followed Ren up the stairs and towards Grian's bedroom. Ren's ears were lowered as his tail slowly slumped between his legs. 

 " What are you so nervous about, Ren?" I questioned as Ren frowned, " I don't have a good feeling about what's happening, Iskall. The fox guy was walking weirdly and trying to talk, but it seemed like something was keeping him from doing so." he answered with a shake of his head. 

 I looked at Grian's door and leaned my ear against it. A tiny bark came from the other side and it was followed by a high pitched giggle. I frowned, " Well Rendog, I think your bad feelings were correct." I told him with a sigh. 

 Ren tilted his head as I put my hand onto the doorknob and gently opened the door. The two of us looked into the room and found two little hybrids sitting in one of Grian's many blanket nests.

 Yep, just as a thought. 

 What I'm confused about is how can this fox hybrid turn Grian into a child as well? From what I remember, only Mighty had that ability and it was only when she was young as well. Besides these questions, I was also wondering who the fox hybrid was. 

 Ren moved past me and towards the two children. Well, a child and a fox pup now that I look at them. The fox was curled up with only his head, large ears, and paws sticking out; he sniffed at the air before curling up into the ball with a tired whimper. 

 I looked at Ren as he looked down at the little Grian, " Hey little buddy.... Do you remember me?" he questioned as Grian looked up at him with his big, purple eyes. Grian's wings fluffed up as he turned towards Ren. 

 The little Grian crawled out of his nest and held his not bitten arm up to Rendog. His feathers fluffed up as he opened and closed his hands. The bird's wings flapped as Ren gently scooped him up and held him.

 Grian rubbed his head against the dog hybrid's face and chirped quietly. I nodded my head, " I think he remember you." I smiled as Ren nodded and moved Grian around until the both of them were comfortable. 

 I looked down at the fox pup as he rolled around in the nest and eventually stopped when he was on his back. I took one of the many blankets around me and used it to scoop the fox up in order to avoid getting bit. 

 Ren watched me nervously as I swaddled the fox until only his head was visible. The little guy was panting quietly as he rubbed his drippy snout against my jacket. I looked at Ren, " Let's get them to Xisuma." I told Ren as he nodded, " You lead the way." he smiled as we left the base with two small hybrids in tow.

 X had Ren and I put the two toddlers down next to some blankets after he was done taking some blood and magic samples. 

 Now, Ren and I were in the magic observation room while I was with the little guys. Grian had built another nest around the fox pup causing him to pant and wiggle out of his blanket bundle until he was laying against Grian's side and underneath his wing.

 Grian looked at me, " Bankie." he pointed outside the nest and towards another blanket. I nodded and retrieved the blanket for the bird and gently placed it down over to the two toddlers. 

 The little bird hybrid let out a happy chirp, " Wammmm...." he wiggled himself until only the top of his head showed. I smiled and moved over to sit down on a chair next to a redstone lamp. I leaned against the back of the chair and watched the two hybrids in the nest move around until they were both comfy and asleep. 

 I rested my chin against my hand as I waited for X and Ren to come back with results about the strange deaging.

 When X and Ren returned, I guess that an hour had passed. X questioned where the two kids were, and I pointed towards the small nest that had two lumps gently moving up and down with each breath. 

 X nodded his head, " So, about the results, " he got to the point rather fast, " I've discovered that our fox friend was editing some code back in his server.... The reason? I have no clue." he tapped at his communicator as his ear fins twitched. 

 I raised my eyebrow as a holographic screen was soon displayed on the far wall and showed a series of rather complex codes and the server it belonged to. 

 Dream SMP....

 That's where that Fundy guy works and hangs out, isn't it? 

 I mentally slapped myself. 

 I should've recognized that that fox pup was Fundy from the beginning. Then again, I was too busy thinking about getting them checked out and helping Rendog that I wasn't thinking about Fundy's identity. 

 " So, did you two figure out how to fix them?" I questioned as a frown formed on X's snout, " Well, no, we didn't.... I can't access another server's code; A server this complex, anyways." he rubbed the back of his scale-covered head with his free claw. 

 I looked back towards the nest and crossed my arms, " What do we do then?" I questioned as Ren piped up, " We go to the Dream SMP and explain to them the situation... I bet they're missing their server member." he nodded his head as his tail wagged. 

 After I nodded, I looked back towards the children and down towards the nest again. I crossed my arms, " Shouldn't we wait for them them wake up first?" I questioned as X nodded, " That's the plan." he shrugged. 

 Once X finished his explanation, he left Ren and me to watch after the two sleeping toddlers. I sat back down on my chair and watched as Ren pulled out a foldable chair. The two of us sat back as the nest briefly shook and little Grian crawled out of it. 

 I sat up slightly as the toddler crawled over to me and put his little hand claws against my leg. I leaned forward and picked the hybrid up until he was nuzzled against me; a soft chirp came from the little guy and he laid against me and stretched out before curling in on himself. 

 I flinched at the sudden digging of the claws then sighed, " Hey, Ren, can you grab me a blanket?" I questioned as the hybrid nodded. Once I got the blanket, I covered both myself and little G in it until we both were comfortable. 

 Then everything was silent.
