The sorting hat started to mumble. I could feel all the eyes on me. Everyone in the room was looking at me.
"SLYTHERIN!" The hat screams.
I turned pale. I don't remember much about Slytherins but from what Harry said about them, they don't seem nice. I could see Hermione's eyes look at me, her face dropped as we made eye contact. I didn't belong in Slytherin.
I got up from the chair as the hat was lifted from my head. I walked down and over to the Slytherin table which was on the right side of the hall. As I sat down in front of the boy from the train.
The rest of the first years got sorted and then the feast began. I didn't feel like eating. Although I have to say the food looked really good. I could feel someone looking at me, I was sure it was the boy from the train. He was talking with his friends. He seemed to be popular.
I ate a bit. The food was good. But it wasn't like what mom cooked. Then soon enough ghosts came rising from the corner and started to talk to the students.
"So your name is y/n?" Asked the boy from the train
"Yes and your name is?"
"Malfoy, Draco Ma-"
he got cut off by this girl who sat beside him. From what I heard her name was Pansy. When everyone was done eating we all headed to the Slytherin common room. Hogwarts was so big it was hard to keep track of where we were going. We went down a few stairs and finally made it. We entered the common room. It's was very green and dark. Everyone headed to their dorms.
This didn't feel right I didn't belong here.
I suddenly felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Pansy.
"The girls dorms are this way," she said pulling my arm to where she was pointing, she led me to my room.My room was small, cave like. There was a vanity and a small closet. There was a window where I could see the moon so clearly. I was happy I didn't need to share my room with anyone else. I got in bed tired and exhausted from the train ride and everything. But it didn't feel right. Even though I knew I was around so many people I still felt alone. And there was someone I couldn't get out of my mind. Draco.
It was late at night and I couldn't sleep. I didn't want to stay in my room so I went out to the common room. Half asleep I walked down and sat in front of the fire. The warmth calmed me down. I sat there for a good minute. Just letting the fire warm up my skin.
I could feel someone watching me. Spying on me if you will. I turn around to see none other than Draco sitting on the couch looking at me.
I stood up and sat in a chair in front up him. His hair was messy but it looked cute.Draco's pov~
She sat down in the chair in front of me. Looked like she hadn't slept in days. It was quite awkward, I wanted to say something but the words wouldn't come out of my mouth.
"What brings you here so late at night?" I asked harshly.
"I couldn't sleep, and you?" She looked at me with hope that I would answer.
"Doing homework."I wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. I got out my astrology work that I was supposed to do over the summer, there was a lot but I had to finish it or Professor would be mad.
She left the chair and walked back down to the fire place. She turned her back to the fire and placed her eyes on me. I tried not to look at her, because I needed to focus on my work.I had to say even though she looked like she hadn't slept in days and her hair was a mess, she looked beautiful.
I shoved the thought out of my head and continued to do my work."So you're Draco right?" She asked.
"I rather you call me Malfoy but yes" I answered while trying to focus on my writing. I wasn't use to people calling me by my first name. It was always Malfoy. She nodded. She looked rather disappointed I wasn't talking to her. I put my work to the side.
"Where are you from, haven't seen you before," I say trying to start a conversation.
"Moved here from America, probably explains why you haven't seen me."
I talked to her for what seemed like only a few minutes, she told me about American and how she didn't want to move. Usually I wouldn't listen when people were ranting to me, but for some reason I listened to her. Not that I even cared about her. Only cared since she was a new Slytherin, I mean she was going to be staying with us so might as well get to know her."I'm gonna go back to my dorm, and try and sleep," she said as she got up and started to head for her dorm.
"Goodnight," she said called and then vanished into the dark hallway.
I packed up my school work and headed to my dorm as well. I always hated new students, they got on my nerves, but y/l/n was different.
