Chapter 23 - New Connections

-Saturday July 25th, 2037, 11 am, Clear-

Ryukon watched the repair crew fix his windows and walls. He sniffed the air, not minding the smell of paint. Keito saw Ryukon sitting on the stairs and sat next to him. Ryukon just glanced over to him.

"You have a strong jaw..."

"Sorry..." he smiled and kissed the side of his neck, "did you sleep well?"

"Hush..." Ryukon said with a chuckle, "did you?..."

"Very~"

Ryukon leaned against Keito and yawned. He smiled from how happy his younger self would be, knowing that he and Keito were officially together. As always, his phone interrupted the moment. He took out his phone and looked at the message. Keito stood up and went into the kitchen.

"I heard about what happened yesterday on the news," Info White messaged, "I see that you also played dumb. Do you even need my schemes? Or do you prefer supplies..."

"Supplies would be more appropriate."

"-Sniff- you grew up so fast!" Info White teased.

Ryukon just smirked from the message, "I suppose you can say that..."

"What do you need?"

"I need as much information about the other family Ruri knows as possible..." Ryukon said.

"I'll message you again at 3..." Info White said. Ryukon placed his phone down. When Keito opened the fridge, he froze when he saw Ryukon's cat laying next to the kitchen door. The cat was chilling on his side under the sun. Keito was shocked that he never met him. He walked over to the sleeping cat and kneeled next to him. Token opened his eyes half way and stretched his arms out.

He rolled onto his back and stared at Keito, paws sticking up. Keito has never seen a black cat with such long fur. Token stared at Keito with his orange eyes, then stood up. He brushed his face against his leg. Keito rubbed Token's head while he stood on one of his feet. He lifted Token up and cradled him. He walked back to the stairs where Ryukon was.

Token rubbed his face against Keito's chin with a strong purr. Ryukon looked up from his phone and grinned from Keito holding his cat.

"What's his name?" Keito asked.

"Token," Ryukon responded, "he seems so well behaved in your arms."

Keito looked down at Token, who was looking up at Keito with his round eyes, "pfft... He's probably cool with everyone... Stop lying."

Ryukon giggled and rubbed Token's head. Keito sat back down on the stairs.

"I know this is risky, but I feel like it would be neat to go on a date. Are you in?"

"I don't know about that..." Ryukon said, "the house just got shot up... Let's stay inside and have a date..." The two agreed and Ryukon thought about what to make for their indoor date. Token swished his tail like a pendulum. Keito couldn't release his hands from the ball of fur. Token was both large and a little on the fluffy side.

-6 pm Clear-

The repair people had left an hour ago, leaving Ryukon quite a bill despite what the officer said. He was in the kitchen making ramen to calm he and Keito's nerves on their date. He glanced at his phone on the counter, waiting for a buzz. He huffed and lowered the heat on his ramen. His phone finally vibrated and he checked the message.

"Hey, Ryukon," Info White messaged, "I have some important news to tell you, so you need to listen up..."

"You're rather late..." Ryukon messaged back.
