The day came. It was time to defend this Plantation, I would do so with my life. Even if others wouldn't. I stood outside of the changing rooms, helmet hanging off my belt. I was in my full kit, just in case. As everyone poured out of their rooms, I stopped Hiro, handing him a Black stim.

Wyatt:If it all goes south, this will expunge the tumor, but it could be fatal, use it wisely.

He nodded at me. As if understanding finally.

As I entered the Hanger, Zero Two beat me to My titan, she looked as if she had a question.

Wyatt: Ask it Zero Two.

Zero Two: Will Darling be alright?

Wyatt: That's the hope

But something told me that it wasn't.

She began crying uncontrollably. I knew we were the only ones here, so I embraced her in a hug. She sobbed into my chest, making my overshirt wet. Damn she really cares about him huh? Lucky guy...

Wyatt: Once this is over, I will get you out of here. No more fighting, no more needing to suffer.

Zero Two: But i can't leave. I need to do more.

Wyatt: It's time for you to shed your burden. Now let's kick some ass, and let's do it well.

She looked at me, still crying and nodded, she wiped her tears away.

Wyatt: And if he collapses, give him this.

I handed her the same stim.

Wyatt: Just like this

 I mimicked what I usually do.

It may be his only hope. But I have faith.

She walked up to her Franxx, and I could see the good Dr. looking at me, he nodded once. And I nodded back. I embarked Gage and initiated the startup, his chassis whirring to life as he came alive.

Gage: All systems operational.

Wyatt: Tune radio to 0451

Gage: 10-4

Wyatt: We are going into combat old friend, Let's make it out alive.

Gage: Understood.

We charged out of the deployment tunnel. I could see Squad 26 watching me. I landed about 10 meters from them.

Wyatt: Good luck to you all. Come out of this alive.

Ninety: Thank you Wyatt. You do the same.

I nodded and moved to my rear position.

Gage: Cores ready

I looked at the three options, Thermonuclear core, Siege Core, and Berserker core. I chose the second core. I felt Gage lock into Siege core, and the Energy MG appeared over head directly above me and locked into place with a satisfying *clunk*. I felt the majority of the energy get transferred into the Accelerators, which in turn powered the Oscillators, and then finally, Into the chamber. I saw the energy get stored in the fore barrel, indicating overcharge, which is what I wanted. Satisfied I disembarked. It would be awhile before everyone was ready. As I waited, I saw Squad 26 still lingering over by their exits, almost as if they were discussing something. Then I got a message from Hachi that read" You will have Field command, don't make me regret it." Thanks for the faith brudda.

Everyone was in position. It was time for war. Hachi sent out one last comm

Hachi: It is time. Squad 26, you will be the spearhead, Squad 13 Kill anything that comes through. Streliza and Gage will remain at the rear to provide fire support. Wyatt has field command. Everyone. GO.
