Later that evening, with the two boys snuggling on the couch watching a movie, Joyce announced that she was going out. She didn't specify where, but it was clear this was no boring errand. She was wearing a long sleeved red dress and makeup, which was quite out of character for her.

"Hey Mom, are you, like, going on a date?" Will asked quizzically.

Joyce avoided eye contact and flushed. "It's nothing really, just a dinner." she answered before leaving.

"I'm pretty sure I know who she's going with..hehe" Will giggled cheekily. Mike couldn't help but blush at his boyfriend's cuteness.

A few moments of comfortable silence passed, when Will gained the courage to ask something. "So...I understand if you're not comfortable sharing..but, if you are, can I maybe...ask what happened earlier?" Will asked anxiously.

Mike shifted uncomfortably. He took a deep breath. "Yeah. I don't like keeping secrets from you anyways." at which that last bit, Will's face flushed pink.

"So it all started when I told my parents I wanted them to know something. At that point...I basically just told them both I'm bi. I was so scared, Will. I was shaking so much...After a few a seconds of stunned silence, my Mom was totally cool about it but my...dad....sat there and tried to comprehend it. I thought maybe that meant he would accept me but, I was so very wrong. He got so angry. I was terrified. He even came at me. My mom had to hold him back and I...well. I ran away." He finished, getting teary.

Will himself was practically crying. "That's not right at all. You're perfect, Mike, just the way you are." Will grabbed Mike's shoulders and stared him in the eyes, causing Mike to become a flustered mess.

"And if he tried to hurt you, or change you, even for a second, I refuse to recognize him as your father." Will finished. "You mean so much to me. I'm not letting that sad excuse of a dad take you away."

Mike had tears running down his face. He leaned in and kissed his loving boyfriend, who kissed him back.

No matter how long it takes, no matter how hard the journey will be, they will heal. They will both heal together.

Once again, I am deeply sorry for my lack of updates.

In case you're wondering, this is not the end, (at least I don't think so) it's just the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

I hope my writing style is getting better, and I  dearly hope I am portraying the characters accurately. But I'll gladly take suggestions!

Please leave feedback! I love seeing your opinions!

Thanks for reading, stay safe out there.
