Punishment

Walking to the castle she was in awe at everything she saw from the snow to the man who took us to hot lands and how different everything was. She held my hand the whole way there even getting comfortable with the guards around and showing her expressions.

'She's so cute'.

When we got there she had a glow to her eyes from the view and Toriel was there to greet us.

"Oh my, two children", she came over looking over the boy.

"Traces of magic? (Y/n) did you go to the ruins by yourself?! We've been looking for you and you were there all this time".

"Forgive me but he would have died otherwise and I would have felt at fault", I lowered my head out of respect.

"Oh my child, why are you being so formal . . . you don't have to be formal with me", she held my head up in her hands giving me a warm smile.

"Tori . . ., no aunty I'm sorry. I broke the rules", I gave her one of my pouting faces and her motherly mode activated.

She gave me a hug and noticed the little girl hiding behind me, "hello there my child".

"h-hello . . . . um".

"Toriel, call me Toriel", she held her hand out.

She hesitated but took it, "I'm Shira".

"Shira, what a beautiful name, would you like to live here? With us I mean", she retracted her hand and came back to my side.

"I can't, I have to wait for Shun . . W-wait where did my brother go (y/n)", she tugged on my arm.

"It's alright he's getting treated", she clung to me and I escorted her to a room where they would be sleeping temporarily.

Gaster was with us the whole way and watched my movements carefully, "(y/n) we have to go home, drop off the child".

"W-wait you're leaving me . . . C-cant you stay", she was very afraid and I understand that but there was no way he would allow it.

Kneeling down I spoke softly, "shira your safe here. Everything will be alright so dont be afraid, wait for your brother and Toriel will take care of you".

I let go of her hand and walked to the door I could tell she wanted to follow me but father was way to scary for her to come near me so she waited.

Chara and Asriel wanted to speak to me but Asgore told them not to for now and to keep an eye on Midori.

Sans, Dad and I went straight to the lab, sans didn't speak a word and left the room while I was placed on the medical bed being looked at by father. "What in the Underground compelled you to go down there when I Strictly forbid it, you're not one to break rules so what was your reasoning", he was calm but that didn't fool me I knew he was angry.

I stayed silent and he let out a sigh, "Sans told me you started acting off when your eyes started to glow, do you remember what you felt?".

"My eyes . . . They've changed color before but it was different, I felt like both of them were calling for help then one faded. I felt the pain from the boy.  . . If I didn't act fast he would have died", I thought clearly and did my best to remember then I froze.

He noticed this and stopped his examination, "did something like that happen again".

He was talking about the soul of baby Midori, "I didn't see there souls . . . but I did have a connection with out that happening."

"your interaction with them was different from Midori, a number of factors could be at play". He jotted down notes.

He Grimaced and took samples of my magic, hair and even took a look at my soul to see how it reacted to a few things. When we were done I was told not to go near the castle for a while as my punishment.

Papyrus was a mess of sniffles when we got back home, "you're back! when you ran from the house i looked all over for you".

"Sorry pappy", I said hugging him.

"Tsk", Sans walked passed going to his room.

Papyrus watched and looked back, "he's mad at you . . . But someone needed help right, so why does it feel like you did something bad", he said confused since no one really told him anything about my situation.

All he knows is that I can feel where humans are but other then that he knew nothing else.

"I broke a rule and now I'm grounded".

"That's not fair! You helped, yes you did break a  promise to do so . . Hummm this is to complicated", he was trying to see it from both sides but he just gave himself a headache.

"It's alright pap, I did bad to do good let's just leave it at that".

I was heading upstairs when he stopped me, "well since it's late let's go to bed".

"uh?! Wait pap-".

He went ahead of me tugging me along to his room, "I might not understand a lot of what's going on but I know you, You must have gone threw so much, let me be there for you at least for tonight".

His words alone were enough to make me tear up, "thanks pappy, your the best brother ever". With a warm smile i held back my tears as we talked on and on about  the new humans and how our training would have to change now that there's more humans to protect.
