Chapter 22

Zero and Rock keeps on walking in the dark path of the underground where X's signal was been located

The place was pitch black
Good thing that their eye sensor has night vision to see in the dark

(Btw the Robot master have been upgraded just like a reploid in their system to function like a reploid but three-stage laws are still in them, so nothing changes on some of their system files)

You can see a lot of drips of oil and water where scattered on the floor along with pebbles or ramble of dust/clement chuck along with wire of long and short

"How long we are going to reach X, Zero?"Rock asks still following Zero on the path

"Don't worry, I think we will be there after some few turns and walks" Zero replied before going to the right where the maps were leading them to their location

after that...

there was a strong silence between the two

because it's really awkward to talk to someone in the past who you tried to kill(Zero) and destroy anything that was a command to you do in a newly built state back in the past by a mad scientist

You can't blame Zero and Rock for being awkward to each other when they alone and with the others

So to break the awkward silence between them

Rock took the first step  to break it

"Um...Zero?"Rock called out 

"Hmm?"

"What does X do when he having a break ?"Rock ask
wanting to know more about his youngest brother from his friends that X treated as a family while they were gone and not by his side all does half of the century years of war in 21xx

"All I know he just seats in his office and reading some reports or reporting the actives of Maverick reploid after mission"Zero said before going left corner and Rock follow from behind

"Oh..."Rock said
before silently following Zero

There was a pause of silence before

"You know, you kinda act like your brother Rock" Zero said
before stoping his track

"huh?"
same with Rock when he heard Zero say something

"I mean, that you see everyone can get a second chance even it was your enemy, right?" Zero said before there was applause " do you believe that everyone can change?"

"Um yes, because everyone can change even though it might be tough but there might be a chance"Rock answered wondering why would Zero questions this

"hm, I knew it, " Zero said with a visible small cross on his face

"knew what?"

"That you and X believe that everyone can change, "Zero said
before turning to Rock and look at his blue eyes

while Rock look at those blue sapphire eyes that were staring at him

"Really?"Rock ask

"Yes, even back then at the 1st war where all of our class A hunters become a Maverick because of Sigma giving them the virus, X still believe that they can still be themselves and fight the virus in them. And also believing that everyone who is affected can have a second chance"
Zero said before looking lose in his mind and remembering every detail of war they been through ages

"So what happened because you about to say it us back when we are still at HQ before being told X signal disappear," Rock ask  he turned towards Zero and saw his face
a darker bit" Sorry, I being really curious about what happened those years in a war that you guys been, sorry it's making you uncomfortable"

"No it's okay, but if you really wanted to know I will tell you while we continue walking to the location where X was been found, okay?"Zero said before start walking again to the path

"Sure," Rock said before quickly going to Zero sides while following him" So what happened in those in wars that you guys been through"

"Well, you see...."
