Chapter One: Slight Smiles & New Neighbors.
~One Morning~

I yawned, sitting up in my bed. The sun was peering into the window beautifully. I sighed happily and got up. I slipped on my black jumper and my black Uggs. (And of course, I was wearing fuzzy pajamas sweats.)

I came downstairs, my ombré locks flowing over my shoulders. At the bottom of the staircase, I yawned and stretched. "Morning, my favorite brother in the whole entire world." I joked and ruffled my thirteen year old brother's, Sean's, blonde hair. "Thanks, I feel the love." My older brother, Parker, came in the room and rolled his eyes. Sean chuckled and went on his phone. "You're my other favorite brother." I joked and jumped onto Parker's back. He laughed and gave me a piggy back ride. "Good." He smiled with a laugh.

Right then, my older sister, Vanessa, slumped downstairs. She looked like a mess. "Hey, sis." Parker greeted her, probably wondering why she looked like crap. "Hey, bro." She huffed and went into the kitchen. Parker set me down and I went into the kitchen with her. "Ness, what's wrong?" I asked her. She got out the cereal and started making breakfast. "Nothing. It's isn't a big deal. Just leave me alone." She told me strictly. I rolled my eyes. "Do I need to bring up that you used to make me sign contracts to be your slave so you would love me when we were kids?" I asked, trying to get her to break. She rolled her eyes and ignored me.

Us sisters sat in silence. Vanessa eating her cereal, me looking out through the window. That's when I noticed something weird. "Hey, Ness. I know you don't want me talking to you, but you might wanna come over here." I said, looking out the window. She came over and joined my gaze.

A could of weeks ago, our neighbors moved out. Mom and Dad told us that another family was gonna move in next door. And now, my sister and I are looking at them from the window.

One girl, four guys. Plus their parents. Well, at least I'm guessing it's their parents. The family was moving their bags and boxes inside. Vanessa yawned. (I wasn't quite sure wether or not she was tired, or just plain bored.)

Our family was a lot like theirs. Well, sorta. There's five of us, just like them. But we're all very apart in age. They don't look like it.

The oldest one in our family in Parker. He's 28, and still living at home. His dark brown hair, that's curly, resembles mine and Vanessa's hair. Especially with his dark brown eyes.

The second oldest is Vanessa. She's 22, and in her third year of college. She and I could be twins, besides the age difference. She has dark brown hair, almost black, like Parker and me. And her dark brown eyes match mine. If I ever had doubt about belonging to this family, I lost it when I realized how alike Vanessa and I are.

The third oldest is me. Laura Marano. I'm 19, and I'm attending my first year in college. I have dark brown hair as well. Except mine is a little lighter than black. (I've been thinking about changing my hair though, so don't wait up.)

The fourth oldest is Sean. Sean looks nothing like me, Vanessa, or Parker. He has bleached blonde hair. (Mostly natural, partly dyed.) And hazel eyes, a bit of blue in the middle. Sean 13 years old. And I'm quite embarrassed to say it, but he's about an inch taller than me. (Yep, Vanessa and I are both shorties.)

The fifth, and final, child is Hanna. Hanna's just 5 simple years old. She's surprisingly tall for her age. (Then again, so were Vanessa and I.) Hanna looks a LOT like Sean. She had blonde hair, totally natural, and hazel eyes. All of us agree that she's the cutest Marano of us all.

I looked at Vanessa. "Find any one of them cute?" I smirked and joked. She rolled her eyes, obviously not thinking it was funny. (Even though it totally was.)

In their family, there were five kids. (I already said that.) Four guys, one girl. (Again, I already said that.) Two of the guys were bleached blonde with hazel eyes. They looked a lot Sean. (I could picture them being brothers to Sean, rather Vanessa and I being sisters to him. Not that I'd ever wanna lose my baby brother.) One of them was wearing a black tee shirt with 'California' written on in swirly, white letters. He was also wearing dark jeans, almost black. Plus a jean jacket with sunglasses and a beanie. (He was cute, but I could tell he knew he was attractive. So that made him less appealing.) He looked slightly younger than the other blonde.

The other blonde was wearing a white tee shirt with a smiley face on it. He had on light jeans, also with sunglasses. He looked older, maybe around Vanessa's age.

The other two guys had brown hair: one with short hair, one with long. They each had colored shirts on with regular jeans. One was wearing a snapback, and he looked the youngest of all of them.

The one girl had blonde hair, and she looked a lot like the older looking blonde. She had hazel eyes as well. She saw my sister and I and smiled at us, with a wave. I waved with a smile, and Vanessa smiled slightly.

The older looking blonde noticed his sister waving, and looked over at us. His and Vanessa's eyes met, and you could feel the sparks fly. He smiled at her, and she smiled slightly. But then, she looked down and sighed. He frowned and went into his house.

I hit Vanessa's arm, gently but forcefully. "Ow!" She yelled, making it a bigger deal than it truly was. I rolled my eyes. "C'mon! He was into you and you pushed him away!" I replied to her. She rolled her eyes and sighed.

Just then, our parents came down the stairs with baby Hanna. "Morning, princesses." Dad said to us, kissing each of our heads. (He's called us princesses ever since we were babies.) "What are you girls looking at?" Mom smiled, setting Hanna on the counter and getting things out to make breakfast. "Oh, um... The new neighbors moved in next door." I smiled and said quietly. "That's great!" Mom said, looking out the window and seeing them too. "Another family! We should go over to meet them!" Mom said happily. Vanessa immediately shook her head no. I rolled my eyes. "Let's do it!" I exclaimed, ignoring Vanessa's angered face. Mom nodded, also ignoring Vanessa's angry face. Vanessa just sighed and mumbled things under her breath. (Probably bad words, by the looks of it.)

As my family was eating breakfast, the doorbell rang. Vanessa sighed and got up to answer it, Sean going with her. I decided to come too. (Don't judge us, multiple siblings can answer a door.)

Vanessa opened the door and there stood the four boys, and the one girl at our door.

Author's Notes: So this kinda sucked 😂 I swear it'll get a %100 better! Just please read on to the next chapter and see if you like it 😂💕 So please, comment for more! Oh and I know Laura doesn't have four siblings, I just wanted (and needed) her to have more siblings. You'll see why soon 😏

QUESTION TIME: Do you think there's a reason why Vanessa's so crabby? Do you think Ross is gonna be cocky as he seems? And what do you think's gonna happen next?
