Finland was ranked 5th, last year. But this year it took the first place, leaving Norway behind. This year's top-10 countries also dominated the Nordic countries. The top 10 countries were Finland, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Switzerland, Netherlands, Canada, New Zealand, Sweden and Australia. America ranked 18th. Last year it was in 14th position. Britain ranked 19th and United Arab Emirates ranked 20th.

Suicide rate in India
India accounts for 21 per cent of the nearly eight lakh cases of suicide worldwide. According to the latest data released by the central government, during the year 2015, a total of 1 lakh 33 thousand 623 people committed suicide in the country. This number is one and a half percent higher than the year 2014. Maharashtra tops the list in this matter. It states that 51.2 percent of the total incidents of suicide in the country occurred in only five states i.e. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.According to the latest figures of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), in the year 2014, the number of youth in the age group of 18 to 30 was 44,870. Apart from them, 9,230 teenagers aged 14-18 were also included in them. In the WHO report, it was astonished that a large number of those who commit suicide in India are aged between 15 and 29 years. It is clear from the NCRB data that the suicide rate in the country has increased against the average suicide rate of the world.
