Man has been searching for the answer to this question for years.  Two thousand years ago, the Greek philosopher Aristotle mentioned the incident of the suicide of a horse.  According to him, when the horse felt that he had sex with his mother, he killed himself by drowning him in the sea.

In the second century of Christ, the Greek thinker Claudius Aelian had written the entire book on animal suicide.  He gave examples of 21 incidents of animal suicide in it.  There was also mention of a dolphin suicide incident.  The one who deliberately caught himself.  Apart from this, Claudius also wrote about the incidents of some hunting dogs giving up their lives.  The dogs did this after their owner died.

Claudius has also mentioned the incident of an eagle burning in the pyre of his master in one such incident.  In the nineteenth century in England, people were very interested in animal suicide.  William Lauder Lindsay, a psychologist, wrote that animals die to avoid suffering.

At that time, organizations working for the betterment of animals also emphasized this issue.  The organization called the Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals also tried to describe the suffering of animals like humans.
