Genre: Action, Drama
Prequel to the Hell's Reaper's Series.
Axel Moore lives in a small town, where everyone knows everyone. Secrets spread like wildfire, and dirty laundry hangs for everyone to know. Just starting college, he's faced with a tragedy not everyone understands. A tragedy that keeps on giving, until Axel fights back to end his family's pain. Righting a wrong that was forced into his life, by going to one of the few people he can trust.
With the small town so close, how do you keep a secret that keeps on giving, a secret? There's only one way. You cut it off at its roots, end it before it has a chance to spread like wildfire. How many tragedies can one man leave in his wake?
Excerpt:
"It was an honor working with you Knuckles. Sucks it had to end this way man." Turning my head I look over at my long time partner, Texas - just as the name implies, he's from Texas. His thick southern accent drips from every statement he makes; it's hard to think that he's from anywhere but Texas. I shake my head, staring back at the prosthetic that is now my hand.
"I thought the area had been cleared for explosions, who fucked up?" I look up at Texas, waiting for his answer. Someone on my team got me blown up, took my fucking career away. Someone is going to pay for this mistake; I don't like the fact that I no longer have my fucking hand.
"I don't know Knuckles. I thought that Deacon was the one that had cleared it." Texas shrugs not really concerned either way. He isn't the one who is stuck without a fucking arm now is he? Growling as I think of Deacon the young cadet never did have his shit together. Whoever let him clear the area is going to be getting a wake up call, along with Deacon. Maybe they should feel what it's like to no longer have their arm - I might just take their life instead. I haven't decided yet, it depends on how much they fight back. An evil grin comes to my face as I stand up; ready to be discharged from the hospital.
"I'll have to have a nice little talk with Deacon soon." I nod to myself picking up my bag, heading towards the door forcing Texas to follow me out the door.
"I think he is being assigned to another unit - getting deployed for another tour." I've been in the hospital for a few months, it's not shocking that he has been sent out for another tour. That's ok, I'll make sure to catch up with him soon after he gets back.
"We can always catch up another time. A nice cold one to ease the pain never hurt." Walking down the hall I let my mind wander with all of the possibilities, of the pain he might be feeling.
