Excerpt:
"Aye ye seadog! Keep cracking on, we have yet another tour to make, unless ye think yer time is done?" I taunt Sadon watching his blue eyes narrow and a smirk appear.
"Nay! Me time will only be done when yer ship is ready to scuttle," he releases a guffawing laughter hefting his load of lumber onto his shoulder hammer and nails on hand ready to make his repairs for our latest adventure.
"As if!" Josselyn croons her own laughter echoes in the air, her trousers billowing in the strong winds up at the outlook on the main mast. "Yer pride would croak before ye'd let this ship scuttle," she laughs mightily, using the ropes to swing down. Her red curly hair a mess as it's whipped around by the wind. Fendrel watches Josselyn with awe as she cascades through the air with a glee filled shout sliding across the deck knocking over the bucket filled with cleaning water.
"Blimey! Would ye care to peel yer eyes wide when ye decide to take yer flying lessons! I was about finished ye wanker," Luanda cuts her with her dark brown eyes one hand fisting a mop the other placed firmly on her hip.
"Oh ye cranker, release the knot in yer trousers and lighten up would ye Luanda. It's a beautiful day to set sail again," she flails her arms outward as if to embrace the open sea and it's salty aired greeting. Heavenly, finally returning home. "Ye should loosen up like Ulric, he lives quite joyously ye know?" Josselyn taunts with a wink as she passes by Fendrel. "Wipe the drool from yer chin lad, yer to catch flies that way."
"I outta make sharkbait with yer rear end!" Luanda hollers after her, shaking her head fighting a grin.
"Isabel! Weigh anchor, it's time we set sail for destiny!" My eyes take in me portly crew of odd balls, I depend on them with me life and trust them to watch me hind in tight situations. There's been many occasions me mates have saved me skin.
"Aye, aye cap!" Isabel sings untying from the dock before she hoists the anchors. Her bandana tied around her wrists stark contrast to her porcelain skin.
"Were we be headed this tour me cap?" Clarice, me Quartermaster stops beside me her braided hair dances slowly in the strong gusts of salty sea air. Her brown eyes squint upwards at me as she crosses her arms over her bosom.
"We hunt for Ithaca, tis time me family heirlooms are brought home," I grin at her, her features a mask of emotion.
"Tis going to be risky ye know?" She questions quietly, she heard the stories of me great-grandmother just as I had. Ithaca was a brave woman, captivating the seas with her siren beauty and the capabilities of any male pirate. If not better than a man's ability. I come from a long line of pirates, capable of navigating even the harshest storms.
"Aye, but Ysmay is still lost at sea. I reckon she too hunted for Ithaca and got lost in the swelling storm all those years ago," I mutter staring over the glittering blue water, white swells crash against me ships bilge.
"Ye are crazy if ye think these storms will allow her frame into the tight squeeze of the rocky shore we need to traverse," she points out shaking her head as Josselyn climbs the steps to the helm.
"Nonsense, Miss Revenge can squeeze through many a tight squeeze, even if ye are a nervous nelly," she grins at her stopping before me.
"Besides, these storms have made yellow bellies stay on shore and become a bunch of land lubbers. There's no better time to hunt down Ithaca," I wave off her worry edged voice, trusting me crew's abilities. We are no first time sea bearers about to blow chunks of the side of me vessel.
"I heard whispers in town that Black belly O'Malley would be taking to sea me Cap," Fendrel announces as he stumbles up after Josselyn, a heavy flush on his features having caught a glimpse of her exposed ankles. His blue eyes dialate, his red hair matching hers to a 'T'; I could almost mistaken them fer siblings.
