Fourteen

Thursday, 15th October.

It had been a week since Finn had gotten out of the care home and had to be enrolled in another school because it was the one where the kids home went to because of that, he hadn't seen or talked to Millie in weeks. He was too scared to confront her after thinking he would stay in this home till he was 18. Luckily though, that wasn't the case and he got to go home.

He was ready and on time for Charlie to pick him up. It was early sunrise and chilly waiting outside in the cold. He finally came and Finn asked him to drop him off a few miles away, so no-one could see Charlie was dropping him off, he rolled his eyes at his request but did so and left him there.

First period. He was running a bit late after talking with the principal on how it is very important to come to school every day. He ran through the door and everyone turned the heads.
"Wolfhard," the teacher tutted. "Five minutes late. Welcome back to the class take your seat please." Walking awkwardly to his seat, Millie dashes passed him and out the class. He frowned remembering he hadn't texted or phoned in a week and felt guilty not having a word with her before the lesson. Of course, he wanted to bolt after her but the teachers said to leave it and let her go. Guilt was carried on his back throughout the whole lesson and couldn't stop thinking about Millie and how he had let her down.

The lesson was finally finished and he bolted out the classroom after Millie. Fortunately, he found her by her locker rummaging through for her next period.
"Millie... Millie!" he said though she was ignoring her.
"What the hell do you want?" She said slamming her locker shut.
"Millie let's talk somewhere private, I don't want to make a scene right now." he clutched on to her arm as she snatched her hand back.
"get off of me!" she shouted as people started to look in their direction. He practically dragged her outside, with her shouting back at him the whole way.
Finally, she backed off free.
"Millie, please let me explain!" he begged.
"Why?! Why couldn't you explain a week ago instead of now?" She questioned angrily. "It's obvious what you're trying to say."
"You haven't even let me speak!" He said, taking ahold of her arm again. "I was taken to court if that's what you want to know! I was taken to a care home so I thought I wouldn't be able to see you again and that's why I didn't bother!"
"Well, how the hell was I supposed to know! YOU NEVER SPAT A WORD OUT TO ME!"
"Cant you at least be considerate, now knowing what I went through! Thought I fucking hit rock bottom for the fourth time in my life!"
"Do I look like a fucking mind reader to you Finn?!"
"You aren't even listening to me! Know what, I don't even know why I'm even bothered to talk to you if you're not fucking bothered to listen to me! I knew this was gonna happen cause you're fucking like this!"
"Bothered Finn?! I am bothered! I've been bothered this whole week after you've not made an effort to talk to me! This is your fault were arguing Finn not mine!"
"Why are fucking bothered if you don't fucking like me!" He screamed at her going red.

                                   "BECAUSE I FUCKING LIKE YOU!"

Silence filled the air. It was dead silent. You couldn't even hear students talking inside (maybe because they had been listening to the whole time))

"There! It's been said! I've had feelings for you day one, you were just too fucking annoying for me to admit to a week later. You'd just use it as an excuse in every argument- I didn't want to be together because of the arguments we have, Finn! It would just end in us breaking up or fighting all the time and I wouldn't be able to cope knowing that was what it was doomed."
"We wouldn't have to rush it then! We would be taking it slow, start just to be friends than be in something more serious, when we're older if that's what you want. And if you don't like it, we'll don't have to be together anymore!" Finn said taking ahold of her soft hands.
"Can't we just get straight to the point? No friend bullshit— Just straight to the point."
"Yes, that's all I ever wished for."
