As we prepare our beds
For a goodnight's rest
Soon you'll lay your head
For doing your today's best

I will sing you a lullaby
About a blue Butterfly
And you're the Firefly
Who owns the blue sky

"Firefly, how do you do?"
And you will smile too
As you sing to the tune
"I am here with you"

Then, you'd turn quietly
Your eyes say you're sleepy
"Will you sing honestly
Even if you're tired of me?"

"Shall I stop now, Firefly?"
"If I give you a reason why"
I hum with a smile as I say
"You're a good reason to stay"

I will tell you my plan tonight
"Tomorrow night, another lullaby
About a golden yet weary Firefly
And with a friend, the Butterfly"

The Butterfly will stay by your bed
Praying for your days ahead
"Firefly, how do you do?
I am here for you"
