The air's a cold feeling
Filled with a soft humming
The cool night is hearing
And I will be here singing

"The Firefly's still awake"
You'd laugh then and say
"I once met a rough day"
You put your next words at bay

"Is the Firefly alone?"
Your smile suddenly turned to a frown
"For I see a lonely throne
As if one had dropped their crown"

Oh, shall I sing it away?
It hurts me to see your smile sway
And think you're a puppet in a play
And so I see you in your dismay

"The Butterfly, too, is awake"
I will smile for you anyway
"Let her sing the troubles away
While the skies smile at your way"

Firefly, you're wonderful
Your kindness, leave it to you
Firefly, you're beautiful
When you smile a light so true

Firefly, how do you do?
Good evening to you too
Even if the skies' no longer blue
I will continue to soar with you
