A youngster was listening to Jesus explain on how important it was to be kind to one another and He came to this part,   And I say unto you- if a person strikes you on the cheek then turn the other cheek also.

The young lad said yeah that's one way or maybe I could get up and run like the wind.

Stand firm my friends and turn the other cheek knowing love conquers all.

Though I Run through the valley of the shadow of death I fear no evil because God gave me a new pair of tennis shoes and now I can run super fast.

Your super Awesome by the way. Give yourself a big bear hug for me from me..

I can not count the number of valleys of death I have traversed. Being a daily drunk for 30 years and a wayfarer to boot I had a tendency to end up in unsafe situations. But I bet you can't guess who was there watching over me and with an outstretched hand when needed.?

You got it. Barney!! The big purple dude on the kids channel?? Noooo. I mean Barney the guardian angel. But in my case he is a her and her name is Adele. I am sure there must be an angel named Barney though. It's to nice of a name not to be.

My Adele has been through quite a few close calls with me and my past, but Shes a tough broad and never gives up on me. God and Jesus have been compelled to jump in and help a few times too on the more serious adventures I manage to get myself into.

One of those valleys of death was when I was picked up hitchhiking by a father son team.

It was on the north side of Tacoma off an I-5 on ramp south.

They were driving a pickup truck and I was placed in the middle of the two.

Now this happened at about 8:30 at night and only the dash lights shown lightly in the cab.

I had had a few beers but not drunk yet. Not so for the dad. He was blitzed. Son was sober High 5 Jesus..

After a few miles passed dear old happy drunk dad pulled out a very nasty looking hunting knife and was bringing it towards my throat slowly.

I did not make any threatening facial expressions but gently grabbed his wrist and pushed it back away slowly. He did this 3 times and I pushed his hand away as many times until son finally saw what was going on and told dear ole knife wielding dad to knock it the @%^$ off.

I said I was tired and was going to get out and find a place to unroll my sleeping bag.

Nothing else was said but thanks for the ride.  I walked away wiping a little sweat off my forehead.

Kindness is an important gesture and goes a long way. Keep doing things that make those around you as comfortable as possible. Love is powerful and works miracles. Shine with it like a cup runneth over.

If things get tough for you then stop and give your self a hug knowing you are loved immensely. Never give up on hope. While you breath there is always hope.

Words from your local drug addicted, pot smoking Jesus freak.. God Bless you and yours always. Your dazzling don't you know...
