Felix sits by the flower bed outside. His hands move gently above them, letting his magic heal the small wounds of some of the wilting flowers. He hums softly as he does so, it helps him forget the aches the past year has given him.
Nearly three months now and Felix is pretty sure that he is never going to see Hyunjin again. It's been hard but his sisters have been keeping him company. His parents are also by his side every step of the way, being there when he needs it, and leaving him alone when he doesn't want anyone around. Felix never knew that this would affect him as much as it has. But he wouldn't take the way he feels back even if he could.
It has been a lot of long nights for him, but he likes to believe that slowly it is getting easier for him. Rachel has never met her soulmate and she is perfectly happy with someone else, maybe one day Felix can too. The only thing is he has met his and getting over that feeling is going to be a long process, if he even can get over it.
"We need to find a way to get that boy back here," the Queen states to her husband as she stares out the window at her son. It hasn't been easy watching Felix go through this and she can only imagine what her son is feeling.
"That sounds a lot easier than it will actually be," the King responds, "besides, bringing him here would only separate him from his family. Our knowledge of the door that connects our two worlds is not great enough to keep a stable connection."
The Queen knows this, even if she doesn't like it. She knows that getting her son's soulmate here will be near impossible, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't try. They have kept their knowledge slim and it has kept a divide between the worlds. Normally, this would not bother them, but when her son's heart is involved then she feels like something more needs to be done.
The boy, Hyunjin, has to be connected to this world somehow, maybe long ago and his family has forgotten. But if he is connected to the prince in this way, then he must be from here, even if the current members of his family don't know about it. It is not going to be easy, and it may take months or even years, but she needs to get him here, she needs to see her son light up like she saw when they were together.
"Well then, I guess we are just going to have to expand our knowledge," she states. This isn't something they can put off any longer, she won't allow it anymore. Seeing her son hold the frown he has for another day is going to be too hard. So, they need to start now, they need to do this not only for the advance in knowledge but for Felix as well.
🌷🌷🌷
Hyunjin has thought a lot about the past few months, and now a week from graduation he finds himself with a decision he needs to make. Spring break is long over now, and although most of that time feels like a fever dream, he knows a big part of it was real. When he made the decision to leave, he had a longer period of high school to go and his family that he couldn't leave. But now it is almost over and he can choose, either to go to college and leave his spring break memories in the past or seek them out, search for a way to be with Felix.
He knows that if he chooses Felix, then the truth of his spring break will have to come out to his parents. That isn't necessarily bad, but he does face the risk of them thinking he has lost his mind. Hyunjin has thought about this a lot and he knows it would be so much easier for him to leave the past behind and just move forward, he'll meet someone new and hope that it will be the same as when he met Felix.
The end of the school day is nearing and Hyunjin is ready to go home and do nothing. The things that normally interest him aren't anymore and he is hoping that will go away soon. He knows the more he thinks about Felix and missing him, the sadder he is going to feel, and if he chooses to let that go, he is going to have to get over this slump he is in.
