NATHAN POV

Sam seemed off. However I had just put it down to what she had just been through, and that it was pretty late.

"Sam?"

She was eating her pasta that I had made us but looked up at me at the instant sound of her name.

"Yeah...."

I shifted in my seat, nervous about what I was about to ask her.

"I actually have a trip booked, I'm supposed to be leaving tonight but-"

"Oh my God!"

She gasped and covered her mouth. I could tell that she felt bad for the intrusion however if she had of let me finished then she would've known not to be. In fact I was excited.

"I'm so sorry! I can go-"

"Sam, no. I want you to stay. I want to help you."

I helped her backdown into her seat from where she had shot up out of it- ready to escape my clutches yet again.

"What I was going to say was, why don't you come with me?"

Her eyes all but bulged out of their sockets proving to me that she was clearly shocked by my offer. I was clueless as to why though, I thought I'd made my feelings towards her clear. Or at least clear enough that I cared for her and wanted to help her.

"Nathan, I don't have that kind of money...."

I chuckled and dragged my chair over to where she was so that I could sit closer to her.

"That's not a problem. I'd had this trip planned for a while and initially booked everything for two people, but things changed so I was going to go alone anyway. I still have the spare tickets!"

She twirled a piece of spaghetti onto her fork while contemplating what I was saying. I wasn't lying about the spare tickets. I'd booked this a while ago in the hopes of bringing a girl, friend or someone like that. But seeing as I was no longer on friendly terms with my old mates there was no point. Sam would literally be doing me a favor by accepting my offer. And God did I hope she would accept.

"Are you sure Nath-"

"I'm certain!"

She seemed a bit stunned by my sudden outburst and to be honest, I couldn't blame her. Perhaps I did come on a little too eager....or a lot.

"Okay"

I couldn't contain the huge smile that fell over my lips and my heart literally clenched when I saw her return the favor. What was this girl doing to me?

"Nathan you really don't have to come with me."

Sam was trying to convince me that she could go and retrieve her things from her bedroom alone however I had my doubts. I knew that she was fully capable but now that I had my suspicions about her parent's and possibly abusive home life I didn't feel comfortable leaving her alone. I would never forgive myself if anything happened to her in there while I was safe and cozy inside my own home. Plus I had a certain curiosity to know what her room actually looked like. Sam was a hard nut to crack but seeing it may give me some clues as to who she really was.

"I know but I will anyway."

I smiled goofily to let her know that I wasn't going to budge.

She frowned at me but finally nodded her head in agreement, understanding that I wasn't going to change my mind- probably to do with the fact that we'd been arguing over it for almost fifteen minutes now. If Sam was going to be stubborn than so was I.
