past of team jewel

The duo woke up and Gwen pushed onyx out like the previous day, and she got dressed into a t shirt and shorts. "so, what have you got planned for today?" Gwen asked, "I'm going to go and help the aqua and granite to rebuild my house." Onyx explained and like she was expecting Gwen wanted to come along. "we should go then; I've already texted them saying where coming." Onyx said and they left. While their she grabbed her sword and they headed out. "isn't that overkill?" Gwen asked, "we still haven't seen the creature from the forest since my black hole incident, we can't be to safe." Onyx responded and they both laughed, and they ran off to the construction site.

When they arrived, they saw the construction and they saw how the cores where being done. Their they saw that granite was using his core to move the different construction parts. "hay onyx, wasn't expecting you back so soon." Aqua said dropping some water on the ground. "well, we're here to help." Gwen explained "right well I think that she still needs to get better." Ruby responded, "and what about you?" granite responded to the response. "I just don't want to." He gave to the response of the response. "in the 6 years it's been since we last saw you haven't changed at all." Aqua said shaking her head. "neither have you." Ruby responded.

"since where reminiscing on the past, what was I like?" onyx asked and aqua immediately picked up on what was going on. "how about I explain it all to you while Gwen help's granite?" aqua proposed and the duo accepted the proposition. Aqua pulled onyx to one side and started to explain what onyx was wanting to hear. "it was 8 years ago, and the king was taking in volunteers for an experiment he was trying. He pulled together 6 different orphans. Two of them was you and diamond and it didn't take long before me and diamond where bunked together and soon enough it became romantic." "wait you dated diamond?" onyx asked "we did for 4 years. However, when it came to the cores there was an issue, he wasn't healthy enough for his." She started to explain, and she took a deep breath.

"he wasn't healthy enough for his core, so it was passed on to you. The youngest core bearers. He couldn't accept that he couldn't handle the core so he dedicated himself to making a core her could use and eventually, he did it. with my help with the biology and looking after you he had made his core. But it wasn't enough for him and he felt like he had to prove himself and so eventually he made the portal you saw in that basement. Something went wrong and suddenly there was an explosion and we ended up in a field. When it became clear that diamond could make his machine again, ruby and granite went off to protect their cores. But I stayed. And I helped with making this house but when you were 9, he stopped paying as much attention to you, so I made the incredibly hard choice of leaving him and to protect the core I also took the gravity core. Last time I saw you were in a dark grey dress and your hair was always down. But looking at you now I understand that it worked." Aqua explained and onyx looked at her left hand again.

"is something meant to be here?" she asked to which aqua took a closer look. "that's odd, the core should be on the bac of your hand." Aqua whispered to herself. The two turned around to see Gwen struggling to help to help granite move the materials. Aqua got the wet cement in a blue glow and moved it to the correct spot. "you can do that?" onyx asked. Aqua looked up and saw the clouds "I can also do this." She said as she held her hand up and all oncoming rain was redirected. Gwen looked at her phone and he saw 4 different unread messages. "we need to go." She said while showing onyx the messages. "all right let's go." Onyx said sighing. As they left the protected zone they were dowsed in water. Onyx tried to redirect the water but to no luck, so she just put her hood up while Gwen didn't have something to protect her hair

When they got home, Gwen tried to ring out her hair when her mom walked up to them. "where have you two been?" she demanded to know but onyx just kept walking to the shared room. "what's up with her?" jill asked. "we went to visit the others, and she got to learn more about her past." Jill looked at the room realising that something was wrong. "should we talk to her?" jill asked "I overheard what they were talking about and it's going to be hard. I have the best chance, but..." Gwen responded as they both looked at the room.

beach day

onyx just lay there as she had been doing for the past week. She didn't feel like getting up or feel like doing anything. The last thing she had tried was moving a pencil with her powers, but it didn't work. Gwen walked in and turned on the light to which she noticed that onyx looked colourless. "are you doing any better today. Everybody's worrying about you. She gained no response. "well, we're going to the beach today and everybody's agreed that you're coming with us." Onyx just groaned and tiled her head to the left. Gwen just grabbed onyx's leg and dragged her down the stairs and to the car. Although throw-out the whole thing onyx was enveloped in a grey glow and floating off the ground.

"come on onyx, you need to get in." Gwen said as she shoved onyx into the car and on to the seat. She buckled onyx in and sat in herself. "are you Shure this is the best idea?" David asked "I know it is. Trust me, she's been like this before. She just needs to take her mind off the issue and the beach usually does it for her." Gwen explained and while concerned her parents trusted her judgment. They drove off and onyx looked outside of the window and saw the quickly rebuilding town. "come on onyx, you need to cheer up where here." David said as they pulled into the car park. While Gwen and her parents went to the changing rooms onyx waited outside. "are you just going to stay in your hoodie in this heat?" jill asked onyx. Onyx grumbled something out and she just sat down in the shade under a parasol.

"why do you look so glum?" aqua asked surprising onyx. "what are you doing here?" she asked, "I'm here for you silly." Aqua said sitting down. "I can tell something's wrong, why don't you tell me?" in that moment onyx had to many thoughts going through her mind to say anything. She looked out to the water and flinched. She realised that she now had aquaphobia, but she didn't understand why, until she started to remember the adventure she had just been on. She remembers the water dungeon she got stuck in, the high current and the floating aqua that they were barely able to restrain for the moment.

Aqua placed her hand on onyx's shoulder but before she could say anything the silence of the area was broken with someone yelling "TSUNAMI!" they both looked to see that there was a tsunami approaching the beach. "how, where not even on a tectonic plate." Onyx asked expecting an answer but there wasn't one. Gwen swiftly approached and asked a question "aqua, do you think that you could move it?" "I don't know. I can't control my powers like the others." They a thought hit aqua. "what about you onyx?"

Onyx gave her a confused look of worried. "what about me." "when you arrived back in town you used diamond's speed core. That's not normal for a core bearer." "a what?" Gwen asked, "it's what we call ourselves." Aqua explained "what are you suggesting?" onyx asked, "you could use my core to stop that tsunami if you combine it with your gravity core." Aqua explained. Onyx looked at the oncoming tsunami and then back at aqua who was taking out her core. She passed it to onyx, and she got to see what aqua looked like without the core. She had bright orange hair and pale skin. Onyx let the core enter her body and she gained a dark blue gradient.

She got over the water where she was able to walk on it. she raised her hands and tried to stop the tsunami, but she couldn't then she looked back to see everybody was watching her and she got frustrated that she couldn't do anything right. She continued to beet on herself until she inverted, and she stopped the tsunami with one hand. The tsunami settled after a few minutes and she returned to the land where she promptly collapsed.

When she woke up, she was back in the house, but she was on Gwen's bed and not on the air mattress. "where am I?" she asked the air not expecting an answer, but Gwen jumped up and hugged onyx. "you had me so worried." She said falling into tears. Aqua then entered, saw what was going on and left for the moment to let them have their moment. She entered again and Gwen left with small tears in her eyes. "are you all right after everything?" aqua asked. "I'll be fine." "did I interrupt something?" aqua asked "nope, it's just her being more worried about me then she should be." Onyx responded, "you're her best friend and your probably like a sister to her, she's going to be worried when you risk your life like that."

Onyx just looked down. "you were scared to go to the water, is it because of what happened last week in my holding place?" onyx nodded slowly, and she started to break down. "It's not just that, I can't do anything right. I can't use this thing that's stuck in my body, I don't even know why it's stuck there." Aqua understood what was going on and she had a few things to say. "we've got you signed up for therapy. We can all see you need it and I also know that just like diamond, you won't ask for help." Aqua explained. Before she left onyx had a question to ask, "can you train me to use this thing?" aqua turned around "let's make it Sunday." She said before leaving and onyx collapsed again but this time, she was happy about it.
