Reaper: Book 1

Amnesia

Pierre is trying to attack Brandy. She pulls out a sword and blocks Pierre's attack. I back into a corner as I wince in pain. "How in the hell did you get a scythe!?" Pierre says to brandy. She pushes backward causing Pierre to fall back. She scrambles to her feet and holds her the ready to attack. Adrian steps in between the girls. "Calm down you two, now is not the time," he says. "I want to know how she got her dirty hands on a scythe!" Pierre says."It was a token of gratitude from Mary Ann!" Brandy shouts. I look at all of them. "Who are you, people? And why am I covered in blood and why does my head hurt so much?" I ask confused. "You're a reaper I have no idea who you are but these two do and Lucifer is an absolute bitch," brandy says quickly not taking her eyes off of Pierre.  "Im a what? Hate to burst your bubble but reapers don't exist." I tell Brandy."Then how in the hell do you explain that fact that I was born in 1846!?" Pierre shouts. "I.. I don't know...why are you yelling at me?" I ask hiding my face. She points her scythe at Brandy."Because of her," she says. "Me!? What the hell! I didn't do shit to you, you just attacked me" Brandy says. "I don't know her either. And who's he?"I ask pointing to Adrian. "I'm Adrian." He says. Pierre tries to attack brandy again, this time she's able to cut her. Brandy attacks as well and stabs Pierre in the side. "Damn it you two stop it," Adrian says. Adrian takes brandy and Pierre's scythe.  "GIVE IT BACK!" Pierre shouts. Adrian ignores her.

"We need to get back. The demon smell is horrid" he says. Pierre sighs but nods. I stay in the same position as I don't know what to do. I can do is hold my head. "Come on. It smells here". Adrian says softly as he holds out his hand. I hesitate but take it and stand up. Something tells me I can trust him. "Brandy are you coming with us?" Adrian asks her. "I guess so. It's been a while" she says. We arrive in the reaper realm. I say nothing for a while. "I keep forgetting that the system is not gentle with demons," brandy says as she rubs her herd. "Reapers? Demons? What? That's crazy." I tell her. "I thought the same for a while," brandy says. "oww! Dammit.  Those are just stories parents tell us so we behave." I say to Brandy. Adrian takes us to this strange machine and they seem to be trying to fix it. I decide to go for a walk. I find myself in a tree. 

A few minutes pass and Drax sees me. "Get down from there, you're not allowed to touch the trees", he says. I narrow my eyes at him "Says who?" "The Sins." He says. "The what?" "The Seven  Deadly Sins," He tells me. "Oh yay another one," I said sarcastically. "Another what?" "Another crazy person," I answered. "Get down before I pull you down. I'm not crazy" he says."No, I like it up here," I said. "He pulls me down from the tree. I land on my stomach. "Ahh oww. What the hell! Let me go!" "You know the rules". He says with a glare. "Rules? I have no idea what you talking about. I don't even know you." I try to tell him. "I am your superior, you have to obey me," he says. "Ha! You're funny. I obey no one. You don't own me. Ooof!" He pins me to the ground and slowly crushes me. "Get off me!" I yell. "Are you going to obey?" "Obey? You're insane! I obey no one but myself! Get off!" I say kicking him off me. He lands on his feet and pulls out his scythe. I stand up. "What's your problem asshat?" I ask. "You're breaking almost every rule". He says. I shake my head and go to leave. He pulls me backward and presses the blade against my throat. "What the hell?!" I yell. "You need to obey your superiors". "You are completely physio". I tell him. 

"Are you sure you want to disrespect someone with 155 years of combat experience?" He asks. "Hey, you attacked me first. Im not gonna be nice. Considering I don't know you." I say. He pins me to the ground again, this time he wasn't gentle at all. My chin starts to bleed and he pulls my arms behind me so I cant move easily."Let me go. This isn't fair picking on a child." I tell him staying to break free. "I warned you," he says. "You're crushing me. Please stop." "Not until you'll obey". "Never! I don't obey anyone. Especially crazy people I don't know. " He steps on me harder and pulls my arms back more causing me to scream in pain. "Is she disobeying again?" Adrian asks as he sits next to us. Drax nods." He's insane! Help!" I beg. "He's just doing his job," Adrian says seeming to enjoy what he is seeing. "Ok...ok...you win. Just let me go, please." He lets me go and I stand up. I rub my head and spit out some blood. I back away slowly before booking it. I run till I found a place that looks like it has coffins in it and climbs on the roof. I sit legs to chest holding my head as l rock back and forth and cry while I shake. Half an hour later Adrian comes into the parlor. He didn't seem to notice I was there right away. I sigh. "What is wrong with me?" I say out loud. "You lost your memories. That's all" he says. I jump and get ready to book it. "I'm not going to hurt you," he says. I say nothing for a while. "He was just doing his job." He said. "Im tired....and I hurt," I told him. "Your dorm is the one with the hole in the ceiling." He says laughing. "Why is there a hole?"" I fell through it. " "you're strange. I like you."  I say as I leave.
