Harry was enjoying his time here, but new that sooner or later, he was going to have to go back.
···
Harry had been in the Land of the Dead for... he didn't know how long. Anybody else he asked would just shrug and tell him it wasn't important, after all, why would you care for time in a place where it was not needed? And whenever Harry asked the actual time, Tempus, he would just received a wry smile and a croaky "it does not matter when we are, as long as you are going back."
Harry was quite worried, to say the least. He had been walking around his realm with Fred when he heard a wheezy voice wondering out loud about rubber ducks.
Both Harry and Fred stopped in their tracks, turned around, and stood face to face with Arthur Weasley. Both boys ran to hug the man, who returned the hug generously, but it made Harry think. Arthur looked quite old, and according to Arthur, he had died of natural causes. So, just how much time had passed?
Arthur had apparently been told to not tell Harry the time, because when questioned, he just pursed his lips, gave Harry a sorrowful look, and shrugged.
It was getting very annoying.
But on the bright side of his time spent, Harry had learned everything his family had to teach him. He had also learned a few other things from the whispers he heard while he roamed around.
Now, they were just waiting for his birthday in the land of the living to send him back. Harry didn't know when that was going to be, but he felt it was coming soon.
···
Harry was just relaxing in his chambers, talking with Fred, when Mortem appeared and asked for them to follow him. Harry had a sinking feeling in his stomach. This is it, he thought to himself, today I'm going back. They walked down the stairs and into the main lounge. Everybody in the 'Genus' was present, including all of the deities.
"It's today, isn't it?" Harry asked fearfully. Everybody nodded solemnly as Fred pulled him into a tight hug. Harry sighed as he felt tears start to pile into his eyes.
"Don't worry, Love, you'll be alright, and if you need us, summon me, and I'll help you communicate." Mortem said, gripping Harry's hand and looking him in the eye. Harry nodded tearfully.
"Now, before you go, we have a few gifts for you." Vita told him. "As goddess of life, I give you the power of friendship with every living light creature. No matter who they belong to or what the animal prefers, they will choose you. I also give you the power of beast speech. This means you now know every language, alive or dead and for humans or for animals." she touched her hand to Harry's forehead and the rest of the room watched as the glow coming from Vita's hand spread through Harry.
"As gods of mischief and chaos," the twins said, walking up to Harry, "we give you the knowledge of all of the greatest pranks to ever exist as well as the ability to never get caught, use them both wisely." They did the same as Vita had done before them, and stepped away.
"As goddess of knowledge and wisdom, I give you an eidetic memory, to ensure you never forget what mustn't be forgotten and the Book of All. It is a book that will transform to any and every book to ever be written as long as you know the title and ask for it. It will be waiting for you in the LeFay vaults when you go back." Sapientia told him. She too, held her hand up to Harry's forehead.
Tempus then step forward. "As god of time, I give you a clock. When you wish to slow down or stop time, tap your wand to the clock. This will also be found in the LeFay vaults. I urge you to only use this in dire circumstances, or it will be you completing the paperwork." Tempus threatened him.
