Harry's smile grew wider and more relaxed as he realized the possibility. He could be getting his 'sister' back.

···

For the rest of the summer, Harry spent time with Dudley and Hermione, teaching the latter all about the Wizarding World, and subtly ingraining the thought of the 'dark', and how the light was a total lie. He also told her about the compulsion Dumbledore had sent to his magical family, as well as his muggle one. And slowly but surely, Harry could see Hermione start to agree.

On one particular Friday, when Mr. and Mrs. Granger where out of town for something to do with their jobs, Harry decided to take Hermione with him. Both Remus and Sirius were startled to see their godson demanding to bring a muggle born he had just met along, but they still apparated Hermione to Malfoy Manor, where everyone else was having tea.

Everybody in their small family had quickly accepted Hermione, and Harry could see how comfortable she seemed; much more than he had ever seen her around Ron. Narcissa absolutely adored her, and sat Hermione down as they chatted about muggle litterature, and fashion, something Harry had never realized Hermione enjoyed. Pansy, Tracy, Daphne and Luna all joined them, and, to Harry's shock and amusement, he had seen Pansy sit quite close to his 'sister', both blushing red.

By the time they dropped Hermione off at her home on Sunday evening, Harry couldn't stop smiling.

"What's got you all smiley?" Sirius teased.

Harry quickly tried to school his expression, "Nothing."

Sirius raised an eyebrow, "You sure, because that didn't seem like nothing. Does Harrykins have a crush?" Sirius teased again, elongating the last word. Remus rolled his eyes fondly and Harry turned bright red while also making a repulsed faced.

"I thought I made it obvious, or obvious enough for you guys to notice at least; I know all of my friends have." Harry told them. He caught Remus' knowing smile and grinned back before turning back to his godfather and deadpanning, "Sirius i'm gay." Sirius stopped for a moment, as if thinking about something and then face palming.

"I'm really daft, aren't I?" he asked. The two others just laughed at him as he hugged Harry. "I'm proud of you Haz, for accepting yourself and being so sure at your age. I know I was still in denial up until fifth year, and that was with me being head over heels for Remus... God I was an oblivious mess."

Remus laughed at him and pressed a kiss to his forehead, "That, you were." Sirius rolled his eyes but didn't protest as Remus hugged him from behind, placing his head on his shoulder and wrapped his arms around his waist.

Harry walked up to them and embraced them once more. "You'll come pick me up on the first, yeah? You'll see me off?" Harry asked, wanting to be assured once again. He had never had anyone to see him off on his first year, and now that he had his chance, he wouldn't miss it for anything.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world, cub." Remus grinned, ruffling his hair. They both gave Harry a quick kiss on the cheek before waving goodbye and allowing him to step inside Number Four, Privet Drive.

Harry once again found himself sitting on his bed, feet dangling, and staring at his hands. He was bored. Beyond bored, really; but for the life of him, he couldn't make himself go downstairs. That would mean facing his family, and that would mean crying more than was necessary. He had holed himself in his room all morning, only opening it to allow Aunt Petunia to come in and give him breakfast. Honestly, Harry seemed to be doing this with all inevitable things. He didn't want to leave his parents, and he acted like a brat; now, he didn't want to leave both his family, muggle and magic , and he was once again acting like a brat. Harry sighed and looked at the clock, reading ten thirty.
