"Bye Chimmy!" Yeongsu said with a wide smile as he waved back at his friend. "See you at school tomorrow."
Jungkook looked up from his seat on the curb, Tuesday meowing in protest as he stopped petting the top of her head. She tried to rub her head against the top of his hand, but Jungkook's eyes were now trained on his senior.
"Oh. Jungkook." Yeongus said, his smile dropping. "Are you here to see Jimin?"
"I was." Jungkook said with a shrug of his shoulders.
Yeongsu sighed, going to take a seat next to his underclassmen. He looked down to the small cat as it slalomed between their legs, purring for attention.
"What's your deal with Jimin anyway?" Yeonsgu asked.
"I..." he hesitated. "like him."
Yeongsu blinked slowly, his eyebrows shooting up his forehead. Had Jungkook just admitted that he was not straight? And had feelings for Jimin, the gay nerd of thier school?
"Does he know that?" he asked after having regained his composure.
"No."
"Why don't you tell him?"
"Because I'm scared."
"That he won't like you back?"
"No, I'm just scared to tell him."
Yeongsu sighed. For the few years he had known Jungkook, he had come to the conclusion that he was a good kid, who had grown up with the bad people. Seeing this poor high school student, at war with his education and his reality.
"Why weren't you scared to tell me?"
Jungkook looked up, their eyes met for a few seconds. The younger's eyes were dull, his eyebrows slightly pinched. Yeonsgu would have scooped him up in a hug if it hadn't been for the palpable tension between them.
"I don't know..."

"Hey Jimin?" Jungkook asked as the two walked home from school together.
"Mhm?" The older hummed, grabbing a scrunchie from the front pocket of his bag and whipping his hair up.
Jungkook's eyes didn't leave him. He had always admired this transition between the Jimin from school and the Jimin he knew from outside the crowded halls. He felt immensely proud to be part of both facett's life.
"Can I come over today?" He asked.
"Yeah sure," Jimin shrugged without an ounce of hesitation. "You wanna sleep over?"
Jungkook shook his head.
"Then why are you asking?" Jimin chuckled. "You always come over unannounced."
Jungkook looked down, one of his hands scratching the back of his head shyly.
"I just..." he hesitated. "I kinda want to spar."
Jimin seemed taken aback, quickly looking up to the taller boy curiously. Jungkook avoided his gaze, knowing well he would get even more shy if their eyes met.
"Yeah, sure." Jimin said after a few seconds.
Jungkook nodded, slightly proud of himself for not chickening out.

Both boys laid across the tatamis, completely spent. Sweat was dripping from their foreheads and even seeping into their clothes, labored breaths filled the room.
"You were pretty good." Jimin managed to whisper out.
Jungkook was completely stunned. In the past few years, he didn't remember ever losing to someone. It had always been gold medals and cheers, heavy pats on the back from his father. He would have liked to believe he had stood his ground, but Jimin had been insanely stronger than he could ever anticipated.
He had decided with himself that if he were to lose the spar he would keep his feelings to himself, being too ashamed to face the older again. But it turned out the urge to tell the older his feelings had only grown, as did his feelings for him.
He admired Jimin, and wanted him to know that.
