Chapter 37

[Inuzuka Kiba P.O.V.]

Leaning my back against the doorframe, I cross my arms and watch as my sister examines Akamaru. "Perfectly healthy. Getting a little old but fine" She says. "The pups are due in a couple of weeks too right?" Hana asks. "Should be yeah. I was hoping you could come over to check on the mommy" I say. "I can stop by tomorrow" she says and I smile again. "So, I know it wasn't time for Akamaru's check up yet, so why are you here Kiba?" Hana smiles. "Shizuka is pregnant" I say, still frowning slightly. "That's great Kiba. Congratulations. Did you tell Okaasan yet?" Hana asks. "I did, just came from her" I say. "She must be happy too" Hana says and I nod. "She is" I say. "I hope Shizuka finally can find her happiness" I look at Genma, who also crosses his arms. "Yeah" I whisper. "I was getting frustrated by not being able to do anything and not being enough"  I say. "You shouldn't take it personally Kiba" Genma says. "I know for a fact that she was happy with you. That girl is -unfortunately- incredibly though on herself. She probably kept telling herself that it was her fault or something" Genma says. I look away. "Yeah probably. But" I sigh. "I don't know. I am happy and I hope Shizuka can be too. Just got to find a way so she'll talk to others again. Luckily Hinata is pregnant again, she'll have someone she can relate too" I say. "Why don't you ask the help of your friends? They must know a way" Hana says. "I will. Thank you" I smile at my sisters. "Why don't you head home to your wife huh? She needs you more now you know" Hana grins. I chuckle. "Yeah yeah. Give Akari my love" I say. "Will do" Genma says. "Come, Akamaru"

Slowly I open my eyes. My head is on my wife's lap as we're out on the back porch. For a little while I watch her, as she's looking up at the stars while running her fingers through my hair. She grew her hair, and long hair suits her. "Shizuka" I say softly. "Hmm?" She looks at me, a little surprised. "Tell me honestly. Are you happy?" I ask. "I wanted this for so long Kiba-kun" Shizuka whispers softly. "And now that it's finally here I don't know how to act" she says, looking up again. "I feel happy. I feel so much happiness that I'm about to burst. But at the same time I'm scared. I'm so scared something will go wrong." Shizuka looks at me again. "I'm sorry if it seems like I'm not happy Kiba-kun. I am. I really am" she says. I lift myself on my elbow and lay my hand on the back of Shizuka's head before pulling her slightly down, laying my forehead against hers. "Nothing will go wrong" I whisper, closing my eyes. "We're going to have a beautiful, healthy baby boy or girl. We're going to be a happy family. I promise you nothing will go wrong" I press my lips softly onto hers. "I love you" I whisper as our lips part for a second and I kiss her again. Shizuka lays her soft hand against my cheek as she kisses back. "I love you" she whispers back and kisses me again. I lay my head back down on her lap and wrap my arm around her waist. "I love you too baby" I whisper, pressing my lips against Shizuka's stomach. Shizuka chuckles as she runs her hand through my hair again. "I think it's going to be a boy" I say closing my eyes as I lay my face against her stomach. "We'll see" she whispers.

"That's being solved as we speak" Shikamaru smiles. "Temari told me of her pain. I wish she just old me" Sighing he looks up. "We tried to explain it to the others so they'd give her some room, expecting she'd reach out again eventually. She didn't though" Shikamaru says. "But Temari is planning to bring her along to her next lunch with Ino and Sakura. They're exited" Shikamaru smiles. "But don't tell her, she'll lock herself inside again" I sigh  relieved. "I tried to stop her you know, from isolating herself. But you know how she is" I run my hand through my beard. Shikamaru chuckles. "Unfortunately I do" he says. "How's your mother. She happy?" Shikamaru asks. "Yes, very. So is Hana and Genma. Akira is very excited to get a little niece or nephew" I say. "I think Shikadai will like it too" Shikamaru says, causing me to smile. "What are you hoping, boy or girl?" Shikamaru asks. "As long as it's healthy. That's what matters. But a boy would be fun" I say. "You heard Hinata's pregnant again?" I ask. "Yeah Naruto told me. He's very excited" Shikamaru says. "Yeah. I'm happy Shizuka got someone to relate to" I say. "I've got one more question" I say. "Keep an eye on her at work okay?" I ask. "Of course. Always do" Shikamaru looks at his watch. "Speaking of which. I have to go." He says. "All right" I say. "See ya" I wave goodbye and walk along. When I turn the corner I smile when I see mothers and fathers walking with their children. I can't wait. I stop in front of a store and look at the clothes and toys through the window. I smile and blush in excitement before walking in.
