I take a few steps back and lay my hand on my throbbing cheek. "Say that again" Kiba growls. "I dare you to say that again!" He shouts. Slowly I look up. "Why? So you can hit me again?" I ask. This angers him even more and Akamaru starts whimpering. "Out" he says softly. "Get out!" Kiba growls loudly once again as he points toward the door. With my head held high I walk past him, grab my coat and leave the house. As I walk away I hear items crash. I close my coat and cross my arms to shield myself against the cold. On top of it all, it also starts to rain. Within a few minutes I'm drenched. Perfect. Just great. I'm not feeling like going to Shikamaru's just yet. So I instead I walk over to the cemetery. "You must be laughing your ass off huh?" I whisper softly as I stand in front of Naoki's. "But this one of my fault. And it never was with you." I mumble. I scoff slightly. "What am I wasting my time for" I say before walking away and over to my fathers. "Hi Otosan" I say softly. "I haven't told you yet, but it's going to be a boy. You're having another grandson" I smile. "Isn't that great?" I feel tears welling up in my eyes. "I wish you were here Otosan. I miss you so much" when my voice breaks I clear my throat slightly. "Anyways. I should get out of the rain huh?" I smile slightly. "See you soon Otosan" I whisper before walking away. The street are empty but that's not crazy with this much rain and the cold wind. I knock on the door of Shikamaru's house and look at my feet. I look up when the door opens. Shikamaru looks at me surprised, then his eyes show worry and he steps aside to let me in.

"It was just a little fight" I say wrapping my hair in a towel and press the ice pack against my cheek. "Your fights don't usually turn physical" Shikamaru says, leaning against the doorframe. "They usually don't" I say. Shikamaru crosses his arms as he looks at me. "A lot has happened, and I was just provoking him. It's my own fault" I say, looking down at my feet as I lean against his bathroom sink. "What has happened?" Shikamaru asks. "I don't want you to hate him, Shikamaru" I sigh. "I won't hate someone that fast. Try me" he says. I sigh. "Kiba cheated on me. A little while ago" I say, carefully looking up. "Cheated? With who?" Shikamaru raises his eyebrows. "Yeah. It was before we knew I was pregnant" I say. "Tamaki" I mumble. "The cat lady from the pet store?" Shikamaru asks still surprised. I shrug. "I can't really blame him now can I? I was married during our relationship" I say, looking at Shikamaru again. "I'm not judging. And I'm not placing blame either. I'm just surprised. Then what did you say to make him hit you? He would never do that after the whole Naoki thing" Shikamaru says. "I wasn't nice" I say softly. Shikamaru sighs. "Come on, let's play shogi. He has time to cool off now, if needed you can stay the night. But I bet he'll come get you before that can happen" Shikamaru says as he turns and leaves the bathroom.  I follow him. I don't think he'll come and get me this time, Niisan. I groan softly as I sit down at the shogi board. "You should've come straight here Shizuka. You're pregnant, you shouldn't be out in the cold like that" Shikamaru says. I lay my hand on my belly. "I'm fine"

I wake up to soft shaking of my arm. "Wake up. I made you some tea" I rub my eyes. "Kiba-kun? How'd I get home?" I moan sleepily as I sit up in our bed and lean against the headboard. "I came to get you" Kiba smiles slightly as he hands me my tea. "Was Shikamaru angry at you?" I ask. "No. But he did say that we need to fix our shit before the baby comes" Kiba says looking away. "And he's right" he adds. I sigh softly before taking a sip. "Yeah" Kiba turns to me again and smiles slightly before he strokes my cheek. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have hit you" he says softly. "I shouldn't have provoked you" I answer. "I kept trying like it didn't matter that you cheated. But it did and does. It hurt me very much" I say frowning slightly. "But at the same time I understood" I look at Kiba again. "My cheating had nothing to do with you" Kiba sighs. "How can it not be?" I ask. "Because I was frustrated too. I was just lashing out" Kiba says. "Why didn't you just talk to me?" I ask. "Because you were hurting enough Shizuka. I didn't want to contribute to that" Kiba says. "But you did" I respond. Kiba looks away again. "I guess I did" Kiba says. I take another sip of my tea before putting it on my bedside table. I lay my hand on his. "Can we start over? A clean slate?" I ask softly and then smile slightly. Kiba smiles. "I'd like that." He says. "Me too" I say. Kiba leans in and kisses me. "How are you feeling? And the baby? I heard you were walking in the rain" Kiba lays his hand against my forehead. "I'm fine. The baby is too" I lay my hand on my stomach. "So. I have the day off today. How about spending it together. Have a nice walk or something" Kiba says. Taking his hand back and smiles. "It's been a little while since I've been to the Nara Forrest and the deer" I say. "Wanna join me?" Kiba nods. "Yeah I'd like that" he says softly. "Lunch is on me" I say. Kiba chuckles. "On us"
