A figure waited in the shadows, lurking, like a... well, a bat high up in the ceiling of a cave. The irony of the statement would make itself clear very soon.

The figure watched as a vehicle entered the area. His brows furrowed together as he watched. The car's engined purred quietly as it came to stop, then the sound cut off as the headlights turned off.

The driver hopped off, removing a cowl at the same time to reveal the one and only Bruce Wayne.

From the passenger side, another person, much smaller then the other came out. He was dressed in a red and black uniform, with an 'R' on his chest. He reached up, taking off his own mask. It revealed the bright blue eyes that belonged to the one known as Dick Grayson. Of course the lurking figure from above was already well aware of the two identy of the infamous duo that were Batman and Robin.

The figure above watched as the two interacted for a short time before the younger dissapeared down a hall. Only to come out moments later dressed in civilian clothing.

The two talked for another moment longer before Dick made his way up the stairs.

The figured brought his attention back to the only other remaining person in the cave.

Bruce Wayne, cowl down, but still in the bat suit, sat down at the computer and turned it on to file away information on this nights' outing. But something just didn't feel just right to him in this moment. Since he entered the cave he felt someone watching.

"I know you're there." His voice echoed up, the figure above being able to hear it.

'Of course he knew.'

The figure jumped down, landing quietly behind the bat.

Bruce Wayne turned around to face the figure, revealing himself to be Slade Wilson, or Deathstroke to those that prefer.

"Why are you here?" Bruce tensed ever so slightly, knowing his secret has been figured out.

"I need your help." Slade stated.

"And what could you possibly need my help with?"

"My apprentice has been kidnapped. I need your help searching for him."

"Why would I help you?"

"So I don't reveal yours or your little bird's secret would be good starter..." Slade taunted.

He watched in slight satisfaction when the Bat tensed further.

"...and I can personally promise two things; one, I will stop my nightly activities. And I have some much valueble information you're little protege has been after for a very long time."

Bruce's eyes squitented slightly in confusion, only to widen quickly in realisation.

"What do you know?" He asked, voice growing deep in anger.

"I will be willing to share after we find my apprentice." Deathstroke stated.

"We'll help." A much younger voice stated from behind.

The two both turned their attention towards Dick Grayson who was standing at the bottom of the stairs that lead up to the mansion that the cave sat under.

Whether the two in the room knew he was already there or not, he would never know as both were well trained to not show any sign of that.

"You must also agree to giving your apprentice over to us when we do rescue him." Dick stated, his voice leaving no room for arguement.

He didn't know to trust whether Deathstroke actually knew anything on his brother or not or that was just some way to get them to help. But at least he could help one child this way.

Slade Wilson didn't answer right away. He needed that moment to think. He should have seen this coming, but he didn't want it to happen.

He cared for Shadow way more then he'd ever let on. And he's noticed so much change in behaviour, especially since he found out that Robin was Shadow's brother the day at the fair.

It was no wonder he got so angry that day with Joker. It got a lot more personal then just Harley's connection. It's why he followed Shadow at the fair. And why he dropped the contract to do anything about Bruce. He cared for his the child he considered his son, and his son still cared for his brother after four years apart.

Bruce noticed something in Deathstroke. He was good at hiding it, but he noticed the little things, like the change in tone when he mentioned the child. It appeared he cared for his apprentice the same was Bruce did for Dick, no matter how good Slade was at hiding it.

'So, Deathstroke does have a soft side. Did he manipulate the child to become his apprentice? Did he already know him from before? Whatever the answer, he does have at least one person he cares for.'

"Fine, you can have him."

As much as Deathstroke would never admit, he cared very much for his young apprentice. But it's time to give him back. Or at least make Shadow think it is his choice to go back to his brother. It may be time for the brother's to reunite once again.

AN: Short chapter, but needed. More to come next time. Hahahaha!
