Fifteen minutes earlier***

Robin spoke into the comms, "I found something."

"What did you find?" Batman's voice came through the comms.

"A woman being kept prisoner."

Through the window to the basement, or more like prison, Robin saw an older woman with dull red hair. Her prison was lavished with what appeared to be the finest furniture money could possibly get. A dark red queen sized bed sat to the side of the room, with the woman chained to the bed by her wrist. The chain had to be no more then ten feet long. Just long enough for her to get up and do something, but not long enough to even reach the opposite side of the room where the door was.

The woman sat on the bed, curled up with her legs curled into her as if to make her as small as possible. She stared straight ahead, but her eyes were completely dull. As if there was no life left in them.

'How long as this woman been down here?' Robin asked to himself.

"I'll be right there. Do not do anything until I get there." Batman warned.

Not that Robin was going to do anything. He knew the severity of this rescue mission. So unlike with his team, he will actually try to stay covert. Though as much as he loved his boyfriend, covert was something Wally was not. He was the main reason for many covert missions becoming quite the opposite. A certain mission with an island exploding in the end came to mind.

Something snapped behind Robin causing him to jump. His hand flew to his utility belt, getting ready to pull out a batarang.

"Jeez, I don't know who's scarier, you or Batman." Robin stated, as he relaxed slightly in realisation it was only Deathstroke.

Robin thought for a moment then added an after thought, muttering, "and I was raised by Batman."

Deathstroke either didn't hear him or chose to ignore the comment all together.

Instead, Slade bent down to peer into the window.

It was then that Batman appeared as well. He sent one look to his protege, a silent communication to acknowledge him without the need for words.

Robin nodded his head back, then backed up a step to allow Batman in to see through the window as well.

Robin looked in as well, only to find that the woman hadn't even moved an inch. It really was like her body was there, but her mind was somewhere else entirely. Like she was nothing but a living shell of what she used to be.

Robin glanced towards Batman, his was of asking what the plan was.

Batman started to pick the lock on the window, "Robin, you slip in and unlock the cuffs to get her out of there."

"No way, we came to rescue Shadow. Leave her be." Deathstroke growled out.

"We are not leaving her here." Batman stated, using his voice that would usually leave no room for discussion.

At that point the click of the lock was heard and Batman slid the window open. Robin took that as his go ahead to slip through.

"Do what you want. I'm looking for Shadow." Slade stated, getting up to leave.

"She may also know where Shadow is."

Slade paused, taking only a second before turning back around. He had to remind himself that he was working with heroes. It was him that asked them for help in the first place and they were right. She may know where Shadow was being held.
