Hi all! I know the book is over, but as promised I wanted to write a Christmas special :) Hope you all
enjoy. This one is set after Danny is reunited with his brother.

Danny woke up this morning with a small smile across his face. He had woken up a few hours earlier. But he just sat at the window sill, staring out of the falling snow. It was Christmas eve morning and judging by the falling snow, it appeared it would be a white Christmas in Gotham this year. The first since...

Danny's thoughts paused. The last time a white Christmas happened in Gotham was four years ago. It was his first Christmas with Slade and the first he spent without his family. But Slade made it up to Danny that year.

***Flashback, the Flash is going back

Shadow starred outside his window, watching the snow fall. It was his first Christmas away from the circus. His mother. His father. His brother. His entire family. Shadow was trying to not let it get to him. But today of all days made it even harder. While he tried not to let him get to him, the holidays were always special. The circus may not have had much money, especially to spend on gifts, but that never mattered to Shadow or his brother. The circus made up their own little traditions to make the holidays even more special. And Shadow missed that.

Deathstroke glanced over towards the small child. Shadow had been sitting there the whole time, not even having moved once in the past couple hours. And Slade was starting to become worried. So, Slade thought. It was Christmas tomorrow. And while he never personally celebrated the holiday, didn't mean the younger didn't. What could he do though for the child?

"Get up."

Shadow jumped at the sudden interruption, pulling his thoughts away. He glanced back at his mentor who was standing directly behind him, holding a winter coat out to the child.

"Did we get another assignment?"

"Yes. I'm also the one assigning it." Slade stated. He tossed the coat to Shadow, who caught it with ease. "We're heading into the mountains. Get dressed and meet downstairs in ten."

With that, Deathstroke walked out of the room, reaching for his own coat on the way out.

Shadow glanced towards the doorway where Slade just left seconds ago, very heavily confused. Slade had never done anything like this before. So, the memories of past holidays with his family were long off his mind as curiosity spiked.

Shadow was up within seconds and shrugged on his coat. He managed to find his hat, gloves, and scarf and threw those on himself as well. He did a quick check around, unsure if anything else was needed. Slade never specified he needed anything, but he did also confirm it was some sort of an assignment, even if he was the one giving it. So, with that thought, Shadow also grabbed a small hand gun and a few knives. He was sure if Deathstroke wanted him to have anything else, he'd either already have it waiting or he'd have told Shadow. The few things he did grab are the items that Slade always told Shadow to ensure he had on him.

The two had driven for hours before Slade had finally parked the car way up in the mountains. Once the car was parked, Shadow was quick to jump out and run straight out to an open area. He gasped as he took in the scenery around him. Sure, he could see it from the car, but the trees blocked most of the view. From up here, he could see everything so clearly.

"This is amazing." He gasped as he took in the site of the mountains. It had finished snowing, leaving a soft blanket of snow on the ground. And since then the sky had cleared, allowing Shadow to see the full view.
