Louis had followed Des out to the dining area of the restaurant, everyone turning to look at him made him feel just a little uncomfortable. He tried to ignore it as Des led him over to a booth and fixed him a small sweet tea without the lemon. Not many children fancy a lemon in their drinks. At least from what he could tell.

In a dazed dream is how Louis found himself, as he stared out the window, he didn't even realize Des bringing over someone and them sitting down in front of him.

"Hello, Louis, my name is Robin and I am one of the main servers here at Desmond's Roadhouse, I want you to know you are always welcome here." His smile was the main aspect of his face and once Louis met eyes with him he couldn't look away.

"If you want I'll even think about letting you stay with me for the night seeing as you look like your lost."

Louis couldn't find the words to speak. He knew these people were strangers but he really thought they were better than where he had origonally been. Anywhere was honestly better."

This could be it, couldn't it? This could actually be his lucky break.

As they sat there just talking, Louis couldn't help the smile that radiated in the room. He hadn't felt this happy in what felt like the longest time.  Going on 6 years now,  and he had always faked a smile.

"We need to head out now Louis." Robin spoke softly, the thunder sounded even closer than before and it made Louis a little shaken by the noise. He wasn't used to big storms and the fact it was happening out of nowhere like this made him almost like a timid little mouse.

Before he knew it two loving and warm arms lifted him into the air and began cradling him like a child. Something he had missed out on over half of his childhood.

He was in the car in a short time, his what seemed to be new daddy buckling him in and shutting his door.  Remembring anything after that was honestly impossible, due to the fact he was so tired, Louis laid his head against the window and fell asleep within minutes

Everything felt like an absolute dream. The fact he was now in a nice, warm, and yet safe bed. In the moment all of his problems were second to none. He knew the man's name but furthermore he didn't feel like it mattered. It was always possible to get to know Robin over breakfast or possibly go to the park and enjoy a nice picnic. Louis had the type of mind where anything was possible and the odds of him staying here was pretty high.

Louis looked over at the clock and sighed deeply, he was up at five am as he usually would be at his old home. He didn't like his past memories but they always seemd to invade his mind.

He remembered staring out his window and looking out watching the sunrise each morning.  He would occasionally see red birds fly by his window and even some would land on his window pane. There was always a positive in every negative part of his life and he knew it.

He tried getting comfortable under his covers now, smiling as he found how easily he could fall asleep.

He didn't know what time it was when Robin finally woke him up, he must've slept pretty hard. And he gave Robin a tired smile as he slowly sat up rubbing his eyes.

"C'mon lad, I wanted to take you back to the Roadhouse, you can meet a few people and we'll get a bite to eat before going to the park."

Louis allowed his little legs to come down across the edge of the bed and soon he's standing going to meet Robin who greeted him with a nuturing type of hug. It was the type of hug his mum used to give him, and he couldn't help the tears that formed just behind his eyelids.

"Hey, hey why are you crying? Robin's voice was solace, as he barely ran his fingers through the boys hair. "Everything is okay now, I'm here and I'm not going to let anything happen to you."

Louis couldn't help but cling tighter to Robin as he spoke. He knew for a fact everything was finally going to be okay.

"Oh c'mon Louis what do you want to do today?" Johannah spoke in a cheerful tone, we could go see Anne and Harry I know you absolutely love that don't ya?"

"Play Harry? I love Harry!" Louis cheered from the backseat. Vivid memories of Johannah's perfect smile remained in his head, and her voice could not be forgotten. It was like a call to the mind each time he thought of her.

She always smelt of fresh coffee, pumpkin spice, which had an unmistakable scent. Nobody else he knew had a house that smelt of pumpkin spice.

Louis didn't even realize he was in a daze until Robin captured his attention, their food was already being brought out and he didn't even remember them ordering.

"What are you thinking about, little guy?" Robin smiled before taking a big bite of his barbeque sandwich. Louis was hush about these thoughts, especially since it involved his mother. He didn't even know if she was alive. He didn't even know if she was still looking for him, or even writing his father notes. She could've already mourned about his disappearance and had moved on.

Louis was obviously tempted to answer his question, but he would probably end up answering more. He definitely wasn't ready to tell Robin everything, explaining his whole life story was bound to be a disaster waiting to happen, and right now Louis talking about things out of his comfort zone, bright idea innit? He shook his head and smiled "Not a whole lot.."

He could see the sincerity in Robin's face and was glad when he let it go.
