CHAPTER 40

THE TALKED that we're going to talk didn't happened hanggang sa naging busy na kami pareho, hanggang sa tinadtad na kami ng mga requirements, hanggang sa dumating ang performance nila.

I was there in the crowd, looking up to him. I was there watching him from afar. I was there when his growing fans took almost of his time after they performed. I was there when he searched his eyes in the crowd. I was there when he–-once again-– shone brightly.

Naluha ako at ginapo ng lungkot ang puso ko. 

OUR talked didn't happen until someone needed me more than I needed him, and more than he needed me or maybe he won't.

That's when I realize I was wrong.

He wasn't a shooting star, he will never be.

He'll always be a star who'll shine brightly without me. A star whom I looked up to and the star I'm yearning to have.

Right after their song ended, I left.

"WILL you be okay there? I mean..." Sky sighed. Napahilamos siya. I just tapped her shoulder but she clinged into it, damn it.

Then she cried.

"Sama na lang kami sayo, roon, Gab!" Ekseheradong sabi ni Finn.

"Huwag na kayong lumambitin sa akin, ah." Babala ko sa kanila ni Finn, Juliana at Haven. Tama ng nakalusot si Sky. "Ayaw ko ng drama, e."

"As if." Juliana scoffed but then there's something heavy tugged my heart when I saw her blinked rapidly.

"I love you, Gabby." Hindi nakinig si Haven at yumapos talaga sa akin na sa kalaunan ay naging mahigpit iyon telling me to stay.

I waved my hand. "Sige na. Maiiwan na ako ng eroplano. Ingat kayo rito, ah."

"Sige na, tsupe na." Pagtataboy ni Finn sa akin. Natawa ako sa asta niya.

"Excited?" Sinundot ko ang tagiliran niya. "Di ka iiyak?" Umiwas siya ng tingin pero hinabol ko. Naasar niya akong kinurot sa pisngi.

"Iiyak kami kapag nakaalis kana." Pinandilatan niya ako.

"Ako rin, e."

Lumamlam ang mata ni Finn.

"Mamimiss kitang babaknit ka."

"Oo na. Sige na. Sibat na ang maganda."

Saka ko hinila ang maleta.

Pangako, pagdating ko, iiyak ko lahat 'to.

I'm gonna give myself time to mourn. I'm gonna mourn for my heart and for my loss. I will cry it all, I promise.

After that, I'm gonna give myself time to get back and move on, and someday, I know, I will gonna reach the place here on Earth where I deserved to be.

I'm strong, I know that.
