Chapter 1: The Precious Grandson

An attractive young man with a very sharp appearance was walking towards a huge door in the middle of an enormous wall, and he put his feet right in front of the door to the end, waiting for the two men to open them for him.

"Good morning, Young Master." While bowing, they welcomed him, taking a step back to let the precious grandson of their master walk in between them.

"Stop calling me that. It makes me uncomfortable," he said, and stepped slowly into the huge office with sharp and clear steps of his boots and his eyes instantly landed on his hard-working grandfather.

The old man was busy jotting down something on a piece of paper and immediately killed down his concentration which he had grasped every time he did his job when he saw Jungkook who had already sat in front of him.

"Oh, you're early today. What's gotten into you?"

"Is that even a problem?" he threaded a hand through his hair before adjusting his suit's lapels. He crossed his legs, leaning his back against the soft master chair. "You're looking neat today."

The old man chuckled, placing the papers down and closed the head of the pen that he'd been holding. "You think so? Ah, after hearing that, my day just gets better." He said, making Jungkook lowly scoffed and a tiny smile can be seen on his face for a moment.

"Are you planning on going somewhere today?"

"Yes, I have to meet Director Kang."

"Oh, okay. Do I have to come too?"

"Please don't. His daughter, the one who's all psycho about you will be there too." The old man put his palms flat down on the table and drummed his fingers on it. "I intend to tell Director Kang that you're about to get engaged with someone."

Upon hearing the sudden phrases slipped out kicking his mind, Jungkook's left eyebrow raised, "Huh?" he was confused, playing with the ring on his finger while waiting for his grandfather to complete the explanation.

"I have no idea what else I can say or do to the family. They wanted you to marry their daughter, Kang Hana, as you already know."

Jungkook rolled his eyes, "I ... hate her so much. Whenever she's around me, I still feel awkward. Marry her? That will never happen." He cringed.

"I'm not going to let you marry her anyway, because I have already opposed it with the intention of bringing you both together. They want Kang Hana to be the company's stakeholder and want us to give them a chance to join our major project that will take place in the next two months."

"Ridiculous." Jungkook shook his head, "I'm still young and I've never thought of having a family of my own. I just want to concentrate on the project and help you develop the business even better."

His grandfather smiled, not with an empty smile, but with the smile of someone who was moved by words. "I still can punch people on the face. You just don't have to think about it."

"Forget it. I 'm going to do what I want." He uncrossed his legs and rose from the master chair, "So? Why are you calling me here? I'm going to take my leave now if it's not important. I still have a few works to do."

"Are you heading straight to the company?" asked the old man, and Jungkook nodded. "Great. I want you to go to my office and take the file, the black one and bring it to Mr. Jee next to your office."

"That's it?"

"Yeah."

"You're joking. Only that?"

"Yes."

Jungkook gasped in disbelief before went ballistic, "You called me all the way here just to ask me that?!"

"Yeah."

"You should just...text me. Never mind." He sighed, "Anyway, what are you going to say to them about the engaging thing? Who's the partner?"

"Must I tell them about your partner, too?"

"Of course, they would think you were probably just shedding nonsense just to get out of the way from getting into the chase again."

For a couple of seconds, his grandfather looked at him, his mind thought deeply on what Jungkook had just said. "That's right. I didn't even think about that," he said, adjusting his necktie, "Well, maybe I'll just randomly pick someone at the company. How about Merina?"

"Why does her name sound familiar?" Jungkook's eyebrows furrowed into a deep thinking.

"Really?"

"Huh," Jungkook shook his head and jammed his hands in his pocket pants. "Never mind. I'm all right with it, as long as I just don't have to marry her for real."

"Okay, it's all done. I'm leaving to meet the family, don't forget about the file."

"Alright."
