Kennedy stirred around and opened her eyes. She searched around before realizing she was in her suite. Her mom and dad must have brought her back here while she was still sleeping. The last thing she remembered was Jonathan telling her to get some rest back in the trainer's room of the arena. Pulling off the covers on her body, she looked down and saw herself still dressed in her business suit. She stripped off her clothes and went into the shower, wanting to freshen up.
Her head was still throbbing, but it wasn't as uncomfortable as it was a few hours ago. The pain medicine seemed to stop it for the most part. She assumed that it was just a terrible headache and nothing too serious like a concussion. Thinking back to what had happened between her and Tommy made her unhappy. A few tears slithered down her face as she continued showering. Deep down, it actually upset her that he would do something like that to her. She wondered what else could have happened if she stuck around that day he slapped her or if Jonathan wasn't there to save her.
Drying off her body and putting on a pair of sweats and a tank top, she dried her tears and walked back into her room. Her phone was on the bedside table and beside it was a note from her parents
'Went out for some dinner, we'll be back to check on you soon. Love, mom and dad.' It read.
She picked up her phone and saw multiple texts from superstars who had her number wishing that she was feeling better and hoped she was ok. After sending each of them a 'thank you' text, she walked out to the living room of her suite and gasped.
There were bouquets of flowers and balloons and some cards. She stretched up to the table and picked one of them up to open and read it. "Kennedy, I hope you're feeling better by the time you read this. Let me know if you need anything, I'm always here for you! From Ashley."
She smiled and pouted, looked around at everything people had given her. She read every card and let a few happy tears slip this time. She couldn't believe how much her friends and people she worked with cared about her.
As she sat down on the couch and appreciated everything a knock came from the door. She got up and looked through the peephole, smiling when she saw who it was. Kennedy opened the door wide and grinned.
"Hey Jonathan, come in." She stepped to the side, allowing him room to move in.
"Hi, how are you feeling?" He asked, turning to her.
"My head still hurts a little, but the medicine helped. Thank you for asking."
"Oh—umm, these are for you." He handed her over the bouquet of red carnations and the card that he messily wrote a little message.
"That's really sweet of you Jonathan, you didn't have to do all this. Saving me earlier today was enough." She smiled, taking it from his hand and quickly reading the card and take a whiff of the flowers.
Red carnations were her favorites. She wondered if he knew.
"I wanted to so don't worry about it. Colby and Joe came to here earlier to drop off their gifts too, but you were sleeping." She smiled, remembering that she had read their card and saw the flowers they had given her a while ago.
"Yeah, I read through all of them a few minutes before you got here. Please tell them I said thank you if you see them later tonight." He nodded and grinned lightly.
"I'm assuming you didn't eat yet?" She shook her head, and he smirked.
"Lucky for you, I came with food. Do you wanna have some take out together?" He asked, and she nodded, going over to the couch so they could both get comfortable and eat. Jon passed Kennedy her own plate of food along with a fork before grabbing his own and digging in.
