Chapter Twenty

Three months later, Brizee found out she was pregnant. She went home and found Nick's note. He was hanging with AJ for the day. She sat down.

"Brizee," Hayley said appearing beside the couch.

"Hi," Brizee said.

"What's wrong," Hayley said.

"I'm pregnant, three months along, am I going to die?" Brizee asked.

"You better ask Dr. Kelly," Hayley said.

"Easy for you to say," Brizee said.

"Brizee, it was my choice not to tell anyone about my condition, I knew Nick would forbid me from having a child, but I wanted to give him a child, you have the chance to make his family grow," Hayley said.

"Where is he?" Brizee asked.

"With AJ, they are at the movies," Hayley said. Brizee nodded.

That night, Brizee looked out the window and paced the living room. She went upstairs and checked Emily and stroked her forehead.

"He's at Tabu, alone," Hayley said.

"Is he drinking?" Brizee asked.

"Afraid so, dancing with girls," Hayley said.

"It is so over," Brizee said. She packed up Emily's stuff and went and packed up her stuff. She called Brian and Leighanne. They came over and she told them what was going on. They helped her move to a new house. She sat down.

"Briz," Brian said.

"I'm three months pregnant, Brian, he doesn't even know and he's out partying," Brizee said.

"Let's go," Brian said. They went to Tabu. Brizee walked in and looked around and saw Nick dancing with some girls. Brian told her to go to Howie's office while he got Nick. She went in and sat down. Brian dragged Nick in and sat him down.

"What's the deal," Nick said.

"Hello Nickolas," Brizee said. Brian left the room. Hayley appeared.

"You promised, Nick, you wouldn't screw things up, well, you did," Brizee said.

"So what," Nick said.

"You must really be drunk," Hayley said.

"You are dead," Nick said.

"Yeah, I know that, but I'm suppose to watch over you and your daughter, remember your daughter, Nick, Emily, remember her, and this is Brizee, your wife," Hayley said.

"I don't care anymore," Nick said.

"Say that now, but in the morning, you will not remember anything," Hayley said.

"Like you care," Nick said.

"I may have done stupid things but I still care, about you and our daughter, that's why I'm here," Hayley said. Brizee looked at Hayley.

"Hayley, go watch over Emily, I'll handle this," Brizee said. Hayley faded away. Brizee glared at Nick. She went over and stood in front of him.

"I can't believe you, why do you have to drink yourself to oblivion, is being with me that bad that you have to turn to the bottle all the time," Brizee said.

"Go to hell," Nick said. Brizee grabbed his hand and took off his ring.

"You want to be single, you are single now because our marriage is over, I'm done, you want it that way, you got it, asshole," Brizee said. She walked out the door and Brian took her home. She sat down and put Nick's ring on the table.

"I'm done with him, Brian, and there is no changing my mind, he obviously doesn't want to be married if he has to drink all the time, Emily and I are better off without him," Brizee said. She took off her rings and put them on the table.

"Briz, I understand, Nick needs to realize that his drinking is a problem, he can't keep doing this to himself, I'll get Howie and AJ over and we'll talk about this, you need to stay calm, you have a baby inside you that needs you," Brian said. Brizee nodded.

"Don't tell him anything, I never want to see him again, I'm filing for a divorce and I'm filing for sole custody of Emily, it's obvious he doesn't want to be a husband or a father," Brizee said.

"I won't tell him anything," Brian said. Brizee smiled and hugged him. Leighanne came downstairs with Baylee and they went home. Brizee went up to bed.

The next morning, Nick woke up and saw he was home on the couch. He sat up and rubbed his eyes and saw his ring gone. He laid down and covered his face with his hands.

"Dammit," Nick said.

"You really did it this time," Hayley said. He moved his hands and saw her.

"Hayley,"Nick said.

"It's over, Nick, for good this time, your marriage to Brizee, done, this time she walked out on you after you told her to go to hell, but you probably don't remember that, she is done with you, she is filing for a divorce and sole custody of Emily," Hayley said.

"Oh god," Nick said covering his face.

"Why did you do it, Nick, you promised her you won't hurt her, now she has another broken heart, which she didn't want again, you destroyed everything and nothing you do will get her back this time, you proved to her that you didn't want to be married and a father," Hayley said.

"I don't know!" Nick cried. He began sobbing. Hayley went over to him.

"Nick, you have to get help or something, you can't keep doing this, you have to do something, if you want to see Emily," Hayley said.

"Should I go to rehab?" Nick asked.

"If you think you need to," Hayley said. Brian, AJ, and Howie came in.

"Nick," AJ said.

"What," Nick said.

"This is getting out of control," AJ said.

"What is," Nick said.

"The drinking, Nick, I've been there, it isn't fun once you lose everything, you pretty much did," AJ said.

"Yes, he did," Brizee said behind them. They looked at her.

"Brizee," Nick said.

"Save it, Nick, nothing is going to fix things this time, I'm done, I'm sick of you drinking all the time and acting like an idiot who doesn't want to be married, every time you get drunk off your ass, you act like I'm a disease, last night, you told me to go to hell, I have filed for a divorce and sole custody of Emily, you better not fight me because you said if you screwed up again, I will get Emily, well, you screwed up again," Brizee said.

"I'm going to rehab," Nick said.

"Good for you, but I'm still done, I can't take it anymore, Nick, I already had that one broken heart, I don't need anymore after this one," Brizee said. She turned and headed for the door. Nick ran to her and turned her to face him.

"Get your hands off of me, you have no right to touch me again," Brizee said.

"Brizee, please!" Nick said. Brizee shook his hands off her shoulders and glared at him.

"No, Nick, I never want to see you again!" Brizee said. She went out the door. Nick sank to his knees. He covered his face with his hands and cried. He got up and sat on the couch.

"Nick, you need to get help, Brizee didn't want you to know but yesterday, she found out she's three months pregnant, this drinking is out of control, don't be like it was with me, get help before you completely lose control," AJ said.

"Oh god, what have I done!" Nick said crying.

"Nick, you need to get help and stop drinking and maybe if you change your ways and not drink again, you can work on getting your family back," Brian said. Nick nodded.

"I have to do what I can to get them back, I can't live without them," Nick said. Brian, Howie, and AJ smiled and hugged their little brother.
