Chapter 4

All of a sudden I saw fog, I saw me sitting on a ledge of a pier swinging my legs over the icy blue water. But it wasn't me, it wasn't my legs and i could not recognize where i was. As I looked up I saw tree's far from me in the distance but not too far to where a quick swim across the lake would be a problem. I look down to my side and see a stack of rocks wet placed onto the pier. As I was looking down onto the rocks I recognized I was wearing a shirt, not only was I wearing a shirt, I was wearing a white shirt, a white button up shirt. I reached to grab onto my shirt though my hands didn't move. They were still placed holding myself up onto the pier. Suddenly I started turning back , I was looking back and I saw someone approaching me. A woman , she was walking down the pier as I could hear her feet hitting the wooden planks with every step she took. Suddenly I saw her feet, wearing black strappy sandals and a white flowy dress that cut off at the knee's. The dress was flowing back and forth in the wind and she was walking down towards me on the pier. She was close, but not too close to where I could see her face. I couldn't recognize who she was or even what I was. Then suddenly I turned my head back , I was facing the lake again yet this time I recognized I was wearing black shorts. Then suddenly I saw light, it felt like I was moving thousands of miles a minute. Then suddenly I was back in my room. Watching my ceiling fan above my head spinning above me.
"OH MY GOD" Hermione was yelling. She was grabbing onto my shoulders and was shaking me.
"Y/N? ARE YOU ALRIGHT?' Hermione was yelling at me. I grabbed onto her hand and answered " I'm fine , what happened ?". I tried to sit up in my bed but my head was so light headed. " Oh my god you scared me!" She yelled as she hit my arm.
She walked over to her vanity and grabbed a water bottle and walked back over to me and handed it to me. As i was drinking it Hermione explained " i walked in and i saw you passed out, though you weren't asleep cause your eyes were open and i don't know it was so weird ". Hermione sat down as she was trying to catch her breath. " I swear I thought you were getting possessed or something," Hermione explained. " Might have been," I said quietly.
"What?" Hermione asked
"Nothing.. But something weird did happen." as i was saying this i noticed i had the ring still on my finger. "This- " I yelled. I threw the ring off of my finger and onto the floor.
"Wha- what?" Hermione asked, she picked up the ring from the floor and started examining the ring that I threw onto the floor. " Wait don't!" I quickly grabbed the ring from her hand.
"I think that's the thing that possessed me or something" I explained as I placed the ring back onto my end table. " wait what happened !" Hermione asked as the ring hit the table.
I looked back at Hermione and answered " I can't- i cant even tell you ". We slowly started to walk away from the end table like the ring was about to jump at us.
"Where did you get that?" Hermione asked as we were both deathstaring the ring.
" I found it, " I answered.
"Found it ? Seriously!" Hermione yelled as she finally moved her gaze from the ring back to me.
" Well, I was going to give it back but- nevermind I'll give it back. I don't want it anyway," I explained as I moved and turned to my closet. As i started walking to my closet Hermione asked
" Uh- where are you going ?"
I grabbed a grey sweatshirt and started putting it on as i answered
" I don't know" back to Hermione.
I threw my sandals on and grabbed my keys that I had left on my end table.
"Wait!" Hermione exclaimed, " Want me to go with you? So you don't get possessed or something again?" She asked.
" No, no it's fine" i answered " but if i go missing just know it was the ghosts" i smirked.
I picked up the ring and put it in my sweatshirt pocket and headed out of my dorm room door.
Right when I walked down into the common room I realized how late it actually was since the only light coming out was the ones lit by the candles.
I walked out right when I stepped out of our common room door I realized I had forgotten my wand, though I didn't really care enough to go back for it. I started going down the halls keeping an eye out for any advisor seeing as it was passed hours but also trying to keep quiet since the paintings are the lightest sleepers i have ever met.
I finally make my way to the entrance of the Slytherin common room door.
"Crap , I don't know their code," I yelled to myself quietly.
The panting looked at me and said in a monotone voice
"Passcode?"
I stood there quietly trying to make up something on the spot though I didn't want to give it wrong.
" Can you uh- give this- i'm trying to give something to someone " i stated as i slowly smiled.
The panting just looked at me with a glare in their eyes.
I just stared back hoping that she would see my dedication but sadly no cause I soon realized that I was not getting into that common room , so I gave up . I walk down the hall back to go back into my common room when I see a shadow behind a pillar in front of me. I got scared thinking it was Mcgonagall and ran to the other side and hid behind the opposite pillar not in their direction.
As I was peeking out I saw the shadow turn into an actual person as they moved out from behind the pillar and into my direct eyesight. Then shortly after seeing the person I soon realized that the person was Malfoy. I sigh and then get relieved because i didn't have to deal with the ring anymore since i could give it to him right now. I move from behind the pillar and quietly yell out
" Malfoy!"
Draco got a little scared and turned around.
"What do you want?" he exclaimed.
I pointed my finger towards him and motioned him to come, yet I didn't see any feet moving.
I got annoyed and just started walking towards him myself.
"Don't get too close i don't want to get american on me " He explained to me
"Don't- ugh " i sighed , " i have to give you something" i explained
" Ok?" he said annoyed " spit it out i have to go you git"
" Ugh! You're so impatient!" I mumbled. I put my hand into my pocket and grabbed the ring from my pocket and placed it into my hand.
"Hold your hand out" i said to him
" no " he said annoyingly
"Do it you idiot " i mumbled at him
" you can be like poisoning me for all i know , and your the idiot you can barely pass potions" he mocked
"Shut- I swear if you don't put your hand out right now I will turn your hair green again Malfoy '' I said seriously and I looked dead into his eyes.
He still didn't move, so I motioned that I was about to punch him in the face till he flinched and put his hand out.
"Alright you- " he mumbled
Draco placed his hand slowly out, I started putting my hand out towards him and Draco was flinching back though I finally dropped the ring into his palm.
"Dropped that earlier," I explained.
Draco looked at me like I had killed his father or something, He grabbed onto the ring with a strong hold and looked at me dead in my eyes.
" You stole this ?" He mumbled
" Uh- no you dropped it and i just gave it back " i answered him as he was still deathstaring me. Draco still hasn't moved, a few solid seconds go by and I could feel the awkward tension passing by so I slowly start to walk away from Draco.
" Well uh your welcome" I said as I was walking away from him till I finally heard him mumble something to himself.
"Say something?" i looked back and asked
Draco turned back towards me still holding onto the ring in a strong grip.
" why did you take this ?" he asked in a serious tone
" I didnt- I don't want that weird thing that crap possesses people or something- why do you even have that? " i questioned him
Draco eyes widen and he started walking towards me slowly
" wha-" he asked, looking at me confused .
" you're creeping me out" i joked " but your stupid little ring , its werid i felt like a ghost had attacked me or something,i was seeing werid ass things" i laughed.
Draco just stood there in silent watching me just ramble on about his stupid ring.
It was getting awkward since he wasn't saying anything back so i just figured i would leave.
"Well uh- see ya " i motioned as i turned back around and made my way back to my common room.
As I arrived back into my common room I saw that Hermione stayed up for me as she was sitting on my bed reading one of her books from her huge book collection that she had.
"Hey!" she said relieved
"Hola " I responded as I tossed my keys and kicked off my sandals in my room.
"Put the ring back ?" she asked as she got up from my bed and walked towards her bookcase.
"Happily yes " I answered and I took off my sweatshirt and placed it on a hanger in my closet.
"Left your wand " she laughed as she pointed across the room to my vanity where my wand was sitting on the chair.
" i sadly found that out as well , I just didn't want to come back and get it. I was already annoyed. '' I laughed.
Hermione placed her book into her bookcase and walked towards her bed and sat down.
"Ugh, we should go to bed. It's really late," she explained as she laid her head down on her pillow and next thing I knew she was knocked out.
And a few minutes later as I finally put my head back onto my pillow , I realized I had passed out too since it was the next morning.
