Chapter 11

Later that week on that Thursday it ended up being my birthday! That whole day the twins and everyone were helping me plan and giving me lots of love. After that kiss between me and Fred rumors started going around that we were dating and most people actually thought that we were.
Though I didn't really care what people thought, I was still thinking about me and Draco's fight in the hallway but I didn't let it get to me. As the day approached Thursday after class Hermione went with me to go look for something to wear for my birthday party later that night.
I picked out this slim green satin dress that had an open back and Hermione wanted to wear a black dress to the party as well. Ginny and Luna decided to get ready in me and Hermione's dorm room as well that night and they laughed saying it was a tradition.
As we were getting ready in my room Luna surprised me with a mushroom for my birthday present.
"Here ya go" she said to me holding a mushroom keychain in her palms.
I look down in her palms and see this gold mushroom laying in her palm and my face lit up.
"Wow! Thank you so much Luna" i thanked her as i picked up the mushroom from her hands. I walked over to my keys and put the mushroom through the hoop and picked it up to show Luna.
"Beautiful," she said, watching the mushroom on my keychain swing back and forth.
As we were all done me all walked over to Fred and George's dorm room.
As I walked in the door everyone yelled out " Happy birthday!".
I felt so loved as everyone was complimenting me but also giving me hugs.
I walked over to Fred and George and gave them a big hug and thanked them for throwing this big party for me. Fred gave me a hug and kissed my cheek as George gave me a side hug and flicked my forehead. Hermione spelled a birthday cake for me that shot up fireworks when I finally cut it, which I thought was cute. The loud music was playing and everyone was dancing onto the dance floor after a while of the lights just going in and out, my head started to get a little dizzy in the room since all I was seeing was a different color light every second. I decided I wanted to go outside onto the balcony and just breathe. I merge my way out of the dance floor and grab out onto the patio door and make my way outside onto the balcony. I walked up to the edge of the balcony and started leaning my arms onto the ledge and was just watching the tree's blow in the wind. It was chilly outside, especially since I was wearing a silk green dress. After a few minutes I heard the patio door shut. I turn back and see Fred walking towards me.
"Hey " he says smiling as he walked up next to me by the ledge
"Hey" i responded smiling
"Like your party?" he asked as he looked back towards the door
"Love it " I laughed as I followed his gaze, he looked back towards me and started staring into my eyes.
" I uh- actually came out here to talk to you about something" he said as he turned his body and started fidgeting with his fingers. I started noticing him getting nervous. I moved my body facing him.
"You alright?" i asked as Fred was looking down and was taking deep breaths
He looked up and smiled and reassured me " im fine sunshine"
I smiled and rolled my eyes as I looked towards the tree's.
Few seconds later Fred grabbed my hand and motioned his head for me to look at him.
"I want to admit something to you- " he said nervously As he saw my face react to his statement he started rambling on, "and it's totally fine if you don't feel the same way or you don't want to ruin things but i just-"
I grabbed his hands harder and laughed "breath Fred"
I started getting nervous wondering what in the world Fred needed to admit to me, Fred just kept talking on and on about some statements I couldn't comprehend.
He stopped talking and just started looking into my eyes, and then out of all the worlds in the world, out of everything that i was either expecting or not Fred told me the very 3 words in the back of my mind i was hoping he wouldn't say.
" I think I'm in love with you y/n" Fred stated as he was gazing into my eyes.
I was taken aback , I didn't want to want nor did I think Fred out of all the people would be the one to tell me this. My face fell, and the only thing on my mind was me wishing that a certain someone was standing here right now telling me this instead.
Fred saw my reaction and started retracting his previous statement .
"Well i said i think- omg y/n i dont want you to think i'm ruin our friendship" Fred was reassuring me
I grabbed onto Fred's shoulders and smiled " Fred, stop" , I tried calming him down.
We both stood there just looking at each other and I could tell that his heart was beating out of his chest. I didn't know what to say, or what he wanted me to say but i still couldn't bring myself to say those 3 words back.
"I uh, I don't know what to say Fred," I mumbled.
Fred took a deep breath and started looking around the patio.
"You know what? Forget it " he mumbled " just forget I ever told you this " Fred looked the other way and started trying to walk back towards the patio door. I grabbed onto his arm and pulled him back towards me.
"Fred dont go" I said as me and Fred were back to staring at each other.
"What do you want me to say? I love you too? I asked
"No. no but-" Fred started retracking
I interrupted him, " I'm sorry i'm being an asshole" I laughed as I whipped my nose.
"What is it ? is there someone else ?" he asked
"What?" My eyes widened as I started looking, I started realizing that maybe Fred knew about me and Draco's flirty conversations or anything that had happened between us.
"What- why do you think that" i responded stuttering
" Just cause , you've been acting kind of weird lately. Like in the great hall, at first i thought it was maybe cause you liked me back- i hoped it was cause you liked me back but now i don't think that anymore. "Fred whispered
I just stood there and did not respond, I didn't know how to respond. Fred looked at me and it seemed just by my facial expressions I answered his question.
"There is someone else," he whimpered. He pulled his hair out of his face and I could tell he was upset.
I tried to reach my hand out to grab onto his cheek but he pushed my hand anyway.
"Who" he whispered as he started looking over my head. It seemed like he wasn't trying to look at my face anymore.
I didn't say anything . Fred looked back down at my face and his eyes were glistening.
I took a deep breath and just whispered back to Fred "i can't tell you"
Fred started to get agitated and yelled "why!?"
"Just cause!" I responded, raising my voice to match his.
Fred just mushed his face and shook his head.
"Fine" he whispered as he pushed away from me and started heading towards the door. As we both looked up and looked towards the door I saw Draco standing there watching, holding the door open.
Fred spotted Draco standing at the door and with a huge attitude towards Draco he stated
"What do you want Malfoy?
For the first time being told something remotely bitchy Draco didn't respond.
Fred looked back at me and started walking and he passed Draco out the door. I watched Fred as he left but then focused my attention onto Draco.
Draco seemed confused , but also distraught. He quickly snapped back his attention as he was holding a little box in his hand with a bow wrapped around it.
"I uh, I want to give you this," he stuttered as he gulped the air.
He looked and walked next to a table that was laying into the middle of the room. He lightly placed the box onto the table and turned towards the door. He followed out the door and didn't say another word but i could tell he wanted to say a thousand.
