Things Change

Part 1

You woke up early in the morning as usual and looked out the window "wonderful morning! I could go on a long drive" you admired the beautiful weather.

You let out a heavy sigh as you had to go to the hospital. Poor you! You worked in a famous private hospital of Busan and you were also termed as one of the finest and experienced doctor. It was disappointing as you couldn't spend time for yourself. You loved your job though.

"Yes Cara I'm on my way" You assured your colleague Cara on call who was also your best friend.You entered the hospital cafeteria spotting Cara. "Wohoo" you squealed near her ears and she let out a small scream.

"Holly shit y/n! You scared me!" You laughed at her reaction and she joined too after swearing few words under her breath. "Two cold coffee please" you placed your order to the waiter and continued with your chit chats.

"I hate mafias" You said looking at the 2 long black cars which was parked in front of the hospital. "Look at those big boys standing like black painted statues. I see no difference between them and a gorilla. Do they know that there are other colors existing in this world? " Cara chuckled as you complained looking at the bodyguards but suddenly someone got your eyes. A handsome man with plump lips and a sharp jawline wearing black shades and a black suit. Ugh ! All black...

They all walked inside the cafeteria. There were some 20 of them I guess. All eyes were on them now, they got all the attention of the cafeteria. Even the poor cat was staring at them!.
"Whose Dr. Lee y/n ?" You chocked your coffee hearing your name. You looked st Cara who was already glancing at you and so did your other colleagues.

You stood up from your seat barely able stand as your legs were shivering."I a-am" you stuttered. "Get her! We need to talk" You heard the raspy voice. 4 bodyguards stepped towards you "Please ma'am" they made way for you. You looked at others hoping for help as you had no idea what was going on but you just received glances.

"I can't just listen to a random person! Who are you? " you finally spoke up but he just rolled his eyes ignoring your question. "She asked you a question Mr" you looked at Cara  who just spoke and gave a slight smile to you.

"Park Jimin" the whole cafeteria was filled with whispers now. Its Park Jimin! The biggest Mafia in Busan. Though you had known that name, seeing him right in front of you made you angry. He killed people without any mercy. And being a doctor you hate death and never in your career you had ever failed a surgery.

You followed them as you had no choice. Obviously they were mafias they would have threatened you if you had denied. Surprisingly he told you to guide him to your cabin and so you did. You took your seat and he sat in the chair in front of you. Which was meant for the patients.

"So how may I help you Mr. Park? You look completely fine so why do you need a doctor?" You asked him sarcastically. You had no idea from where you got so much courage to speak up but mentally you thought you were going to die.

"Where are the diamonds?" He asks you with a straight face. "Huh? What diamonds?" You ask him totally confused. "You are the one who operated Mr. Kang isn't it?" He asks. "Who's Mr. Kang?" You ask him back. He sighed and showed a photo of a middle aged man.

"Uhh..I don't know him" you said looking at the photo. He scrolled and shows you a camera footage in which you will be operating a man. And the next slide shows the medical records of Mr Kang signed by you.

"You can't expect me to remember each and every patients I get. Can I?" You let out a chuckle. "He had swallowed those precious diamonds and that's why he came to the hospital the next day. As you are the one who operated him you should be knowing where are those diamonds" he said.

"Excuse me Mr. Park are you trying to say I have those diamonds. Well let me clear it I don't have any diamonds nor did I find any when I was operating him" you said crossing your hands in front of your chest.

He looked at his assistant confused. "That can't be true Jimin. Kang said he never got the diamonds back after his surgery. And the camera footage says that she is the one who operated him and so does his medical records." Jimin nods and looks back at you. "See ma'am I'm being a gentleman towards you so it would be nice if you tell us where are those diamonds." He says calmly.

This is it. Your blood started to boil hearing a false accuse. "You call this being a gentleman? Accusing me for a theft where as I'm completely innocent. I HAVE NO DIAMONDS YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT!  YOU BETTER GET THAT IN YOUR MIND MR.PARK" you slammed your desk and yelled at the man in front of you completely forgetting that he was the biggest Mafia in Busan.

"Its better if you guys leave the hospital at this instant. I don't want the other patients getting disturbed" you said calmly. He smirks evily . Aren't you the one who just yelled? Dumb you...

"Keep an eye on her" he said to his assistant who just nodded. "You better not tell about this to anyone. Or else you'll face the worst consequences" gets up loosening his waist button of his coat and walks off. 

You scoffed and got back with your work. You heard your cabin door open , you thought it was them again but it turned out to be your friend Cara. "Hey. Was everything okay? What did you guys talk about?" She asks you.

"Uhh..he had health issues" you lied but she seemed not to buy that. "What? You think mafias don't fall sick? He had mild fever." You lied again. "Ohh so you're trying to say he came with his 20 bodyguards just to have a check up?" She smirks. Her question made sense though.

"H-He wanted all of them to get a check up. Funny isn't it?" you chuckled slightly. That was totally stupid of you. You felt guilty for lying to your best friend but you had no other option as he had warned you.

She sighed as she knew you were a stubborn woman. "We have a surgery to attend today remember?" She asks and you simply hummed.  "Cool! I leave then I have an appointment." She said and you nodded with a smile.

You let out a heavy breath as she left. Your brain was filled with questions 'what is this?', 'why is it me?', 'what diamonds?', 'will he threaten me?', 'will I go bankrupt?', 'will he kidnap me?'.

You tried hard to remember what happened the day you did Mr. Kang's surgery but nothing flashed. You get lots of patients in a day so it's obvious that you can't remember each and everything. You worried about your reputation. What will happen to your reputation if people get to know you have stole diamonds even though you didn't.

Your thoughts were interrupted as you heard a knock on your cabin door.
"Ahh Mr and Mrs Song come in! It's been a long time since I did a check up to you. I hope the baby is doing good in your tummy" they giggled.
Mr and Mrs Song were your regular patient and you were their family consultant too. You had a good bond with their family. 

"Yes Dr. Cara did take a good care of us. But we were more comfortable with you" you smiled hearing Mrs Song.

"I apologize! Ohh! The baby seems too energetic" you giggled when felt the baby kick when you placed your hands on Mrs Song's tummy who was 7 months pregnant. 

You had completely forgotten your stress when you saw them..
