*laughs deviously*

I have so many plans for this book. Ngl it's fun to write. So many plot twists, so many plot twists.

As I'm finally posting this, I'll say this here. Don't expect consistent updates, since school is taking a lot of my time. I will try to update when I can though. Thanks for reading!

TW: swearing, Remus, mentions of chemicals, talk of treason,

Logan was staring at Remus, and it was honestly starting to make him a tad bit uncomfortable. Sure, if someone was checking him out that was one thing, but this was more like someone looking for all of his weaknesses.

"Can you please stop staring?" Remus asked quietly. "It makes me feel like I'm being interrogated."

"Sorry," Logan said with a sigh. "I just don't get much company here. I try to keep out of any suspicion or public view in general. It's important I'm not caught."

"You keep saying that, but you never tell me what you do," Remus muttered, pouting slightly. He'd been at Logan's house for a few days, and yet he wasn't any closer to figuring out the nerd's secret. "I'd say you're planning treason except you've clearly been doing whatever it is for longer than Roman has been king, and people loved King Thomas."

"That's true, King Thomas was an amazing king," Logan stated. "And no, I'm not committing treason. However much I hate your brother's rule, I need to stay away from anywhere there could be spies, which includes the treason business."

"Sounds kind of like you're into the black market then," Remus surmised. He noticed Logan go slightly pale at his words, and started laughing. "Oh you're definitely into the black market."

"You can't prove anything," Logan muttered.

"I don't have to! You've done that for me." Remus booped Logan's nose, much to his confusion, as such an action had never been done near him before, much less to him. "So what do you do? Drugs? Inventions? You seem smart, so probably something sciencey."

"How the hell do such smart things come out of your mouth?" Logan asked in disbelief. "You couldn't have possibly guessed that within a few days when people who've known me for years haven't even guessed that."

"Oh, I'm just in love with everything illegal," Remus stated with a shrug. "If it's illegal I know about it, and will now probably try to do it since I'm not a prince. It's not like there are any standards for me to follow anymore."

"You mean that I got stuck with the most chaotic person in this kingdom?" Logan slammed his head down on the table, much to Remus' shock and amusement. And to Logan's surprised, Remus copies him, slamming his head down on the table with so much force that anyone else would've fainted from the pain. Remus just smiled and laughed. "Oh god... what am I getting into?"

"Probably trouble," Remus stated. "It was hard enough to keep me in line at the castle, and now that I'm not a prince it's going to be impossible."

"You know what? Fine." Logan looked done with everything. "I'm going to make probably the worst mistake of my life, but come on. Follow me."

"Where are we going?" Remus asked, jumping up with an excited smile.

"We're going to my lab. You can play with chemicals or help me or whatever dangerous things you decide to do."

Logan started walking to the small staircase that lead to the cellar, not even waiting to see if Remus followed. He slid a panel and pushed open a hidden door, revealing a good sized lab.

Remus immediately ran into the lab, looking around in awe. Sure, it wasn't as fancy as something they may have had in the castle, but that didn't make it any less intriguing. In fact, it made it even more so.

"What do you make in here? How many chemicals do you have? How'd you get this stuff? How much money do you make?" Remus spit out questions rapid fire, clearly excited. Logan just watched Remus in shock at the fascination he saw on his face.

"That's a lot of questions. For started, I make black market prosthetics, except they're the good ones," Logan explained. "I have a lot of chemicals, but they're locked away for obvious reasons. I made most of the equipment I have, or stole some of it. And the amount of money depends. I don't care about the money, but as you've seen, I'm well off."

"I want to see you make something!" Remus exclaimed.

"Can I ask why you're so curious about this stuff? Most of it's just alchemy," Logan said. "I'm not sure why someone like you is so interested when I'm sure you've seen more impressive things."

"Not really. They didn't let me learn anything more than basic science since they thought I'd be a danger to people," Remus muttered shyly. "I've always wanted to see someone doing something like this."

"Alright then." Remus looked at Logan with wide eyes, like he hadn't been expecting him to agree. "I'll show you how to make something."
