The Unwanted Guest

|TANNER'S POV|

'She really wanted me gone huh?' I felt empty and bored. Once I got in my car I stayed there for a while just watching the house. No one ever came over. She was lonely. The only time she would go out was to go to work or to the grocery store. I sighed 'I'll come back tomorrow and check up on her. This is just our first fight.' I started up the car and drove away. Once I got home I went to the living room with a bowl of sugary cereal. I sat on the couch and was watching some Tv. "Is everything alright Mr. Grayton?" It was one of my house keepers. Cecilia, she practically raised me when I was younger since my parents weren't around much. "No.." I leaned my head back onto the head of the couch.

"We had a fight." I sighed "Oh, what was the fight about?" She stood next to the couch with some towels in her hand "She just wants some time to herself. She doesn't like what I do for my work."
Unlike most people I know, Cecilia knew what I did for my job and didn't mind it. She raised me so she saw what my parents did. They were Hitman, that did things a special way. Not like the typical, they liked to have fun with their prey. "Well, don't worry Tanner, she will one day see how nice you are. I know it." I liked hearing Cecilia's accent. It was like Dimitri's but more kind and light hearted. Weighed down by nothing. She was more on the elderly side now but still acted like nothing mattered. The perfect mother figure to me.

I smiled. "Yea, I'm going to see her tomorrow."
"Ok just be carful." " I will. Thank you." She nodded and left while I finished my cereal. I felt like a kid again. I know I might be childish sometimes but now it was nostalgic.

Once I finished I walked to the sink and washed the plate. Then went upstairs to bed. I walked past the guest room that Luna stayed in. I went in and the room still smelt like her. The autumn smell was refreshing. I walked to the balcony and sat down, looking up at the stars. 'I wonder why she looked at these so lovingly. Was it something to do with her childhood?' I smiled while I stared down on my lap, remembering how nice it was when she laid there.

I ended up falling asleep on the balcony.

When I woke up it was in the afternoon. I stood up and walked back inside. I heard music playing when I got in. Bust your kneecaps

Cecilia liked listening to music while she worked, I didn't mind since it was nice. The song was nice and
Slow.

It reminded me of Luna. All I could imagine was us slow dancing while it played. I hummed with the lyrics.

"Honey believe me, I'll have
Your heart on a platter."

It would all finish with us kissing at the end. She would be so happy. It will be perfect. Sooner or later the song ended and I left the room. I took a shower and combed my hair. Brushed my teeth and walked out. I had a meeting with Adam and the others at a high end lunch thing. It was private so only people who are discreet can enter.

I got on my work clothes and walked out the house. When I arrived at the Restaurant I looked around before reaching the table. I was there early so only Dimitri, Lucas and the doll maker we're there. Soon enough people started coming. The niors, the breather then Adam and Lydia. We chatted for a bit when Lydia asked "So.. Tanner, what happened to the brunette?"
