Chapter 18 - The Big Day

Two weeks finally passed and today is 'exam day'. You spent the last two weeks relaxing and helped Ash do revision, and today, you are going to get full marks on this exam.

You will be spending the whole day today, doing exams for each subject. Then, you will have a day off tomorrow, to relax.

This morning, you woke up at 8:00AM to prepare for the exam. You quickly got dressed and did your morning routine, then grabbed breakfast. Ash did the same and he was one step ahead of you. You two headed out at 8:45 and arrived at the exam room at 8:50.

"Good luck, Ash," you said and squeezed his hand. "You too," he replied and squeezed your hand too. You could tell he was so nervous he was about to faint. "Don't be nervous, you're going to pass, remember the things we've gone through. Also, you don't have to even worry one bit, you know how good you are and who you helped you revise," you smiled.

"Alright, thanks," Ash said and your fingers intertwined with his. "Everybody, silence! Your test is about to begin!" the teacher in charge called. You held back your laughter and Ash just stayed silence and gulped.

You teacher handed you a thick sheet of paper, with the test for 4 subjects. You winked at Ash and he gave you a weak smile. When the teacher said you guys can start, you quickly wrote down the answers on the paper.

You finished your first subject's test fairly quickly and you looked at Ash. "Good luck," you thought as you moved on to your next test.

Your next subject is Math. The subject Ash struggled with. You took one last look at him and started doing your paper. "Wow this is easy," you thought to yourself, as you wrote the answer to the question about some algebraic expression. Perhaps this is the easiest question in the entire test.

You finished your test on time and handed in early. The teacher let you out early and you leaned against the wall and waited for Ash to come out.

A few more minutes passed, and your wait that felt like an hour was finally over. "How was the exam?" you questioned Ash, who sweatdropped when he saw the stars in your eyes. "Uhh...great, I guess?" he replied and you two headed towards the stairs, hand in hand.

The second you got out of the building, someone called your name with a high pitched voice full of excitement. "Y/N!" Korrina squeaked and ran over to you. "Hey, how was the exam?" you asked, feeling exhilarated towards her response. "Oh wait, where's Clemont," you suddenly said, before she could answer.

"Oh he's revising for Science, we have the test for that subject next. I don't know why he's revising because he's practically a science genius. Anyways, the exam was easy, and of course, boring, who likes exams anyway?" Korrina replied and rolled her eyes when she said it was boring. "Haha yeah, exams are stupid but it's worth doing it," you said.

You drank iced chocolate and ate a sandwich as a snack, and headed to your next exam location with Ash. "A few more to go, we don't have exams for all subjects. Only English, French, Math, Science, Music and PE," you said cheerfully as you grabbed Ash's hand and ran to your exam location, dragging him behind.

Your next exam was Science and French and to be honest, you were pretty ecstatic about it despite it as an exam. You confidently headed into the classroom and sat down next to Ash. This classroom is different from the one you were in this morning. It has double seats with a board in the middle of the table.

You finished your exam again, but slower than the last time. Clemont finished first, and you finished second. You realized some of your friends were in the classroom and you didn't notice for so long which you thought was quite dumb. Ash, Korrina, Gladion, Calem, and May are in the classroom and they all finished a while after you.

"Finally, this thing is over. We have PE after lunch and we have that one last exam before a day off tomorrow," you sighed and yawned.

~At lunch~

"Everyone listen up!!! Something to talk here and it's VERY important!!!" Korrina loudly said, raising her hand, just like you do. "Yeah?" Ash asked. "Clemont says that we can all go to his house and celebrate the end of the exam this weekend!!!" Korrina declared and you all cheered.

"This is going to be so fun," you said as you put your arm around your boyfriend's shoulder. "Yeah, that would be something new," Calem said. You guys talked about the party and all of you forgot to finish your lunches, and as a result, you guys were almost late for the exam.

"Alright students, today is your exam and this is where you prove everything you've learned so give it everything you've got," your PE teacher said. You felt a rush of confidence flow inside your body as your exam was getting closer and closer. Your teacher explained that for the lesson, you guys must sit still or play football until you get called to perform some skills inorder to get a grade.

You finished your football test quickly, when you were called shortly after the first person was up. Ash was one of the last ones, so while everyone left the place and went back to their dorms, you decided to sit and wait.

"So, how was the exam thing?" you asked Ash. "Boring but like you said, it's worth doing it," he smiled and slipped his hand over your waist and pulled you closer.

You felt relieved that the exam was finally over, thus, the party is coming up in 3 days so you will be able to enjoy yourself for the rest of the week.

You spent the rest of the day relaxing in bed, right next to Ash, who is playing on your Nintendo. You accidentally took a nap when you were relaxing and woke up an hour later, somehow...

The exams made you completely wiped out and you could barely keep your eyes open. You dozed off again, on Ash's shoulders.

~11pm~

You were in a deep rest and you heard a whisper. "Have a good rest, you deserve it," Ash whispered and he carried you bridal style back to your bed. You heard that 100% clearly and you secretly smiled as he kissed your forehead.
