Chapter 21 - Assassination

You resulted with barely any sleep at night and you dozed off this morning and woke up a while ago. Now you felt so tired with eyes like a panda.

You didn't know what to do so you went to Ash's room to find something to do. "Always asleep," you sighed, as you walked to his bed. You sat on his bed and waited for him to wake up.

You looked away for a second but then Ash hugged you tight on your waist, preventing you from squirming away. "Ahhh let me go!!!" you cried as you fell on him. "No," he said. "You're so stubborn," you giggled as you used full force and pulled his arms apart. "We're going back to the school today, yay," you muttered. "Can we just stay here for another day, I'm tired," Ash whined. "Nah, see you later," you said as you exited the door. You yawned once you got out but then decided to get breakfast.

~Time Skip~

You and Ash finally got out of the palace and went to Clemont's to meet with all your friends. "Hi Y/N, is everything okay?" Korrina asked in a concerned tone. "Hmm? Oh....uh yeah," you mumbled, apparently still a little weary which caused your voice to sound debilitate.

"Let's go back to Kalos High, shall we? Waiting here all day doesn't help us reach our destination," Misty complained. "Jeez, can't you wait?" Korrina retorted. "No, now let's go," Misty coldly said. Gladion, May, and Calem followed while everyone else strolled behind.

"Ughh, I'm so tired," you whined, gripping onto Ash to keep your stance. "Hey I think coffee helps you stay awake," Clemont chimed in. "Science geek," Misty called from the front. "Hey shut up Misty," Korrina scolded.

~Time Skip~

"We're here, ugh I'm so tired," you mumbled. "We're going to Korrina's dorm though," Ash inform. You felt dizzy all of a sudden and your legs felt like jelly. You stumbled forward as your eyes closed. "Y/N?" Ash cried as he ran over to you and held on to your back incase you fall.

"Hmm?" you mumbled. Your legs buckled and Ash caught you. You weren't entirely asleep so you managed to open your eyes. "So...uhh...do you want to go to Korrina's room?" he asked. "Ughhhhh fine, but I'm going to be asleep," you rolled your eyes and shut it closed a millisecond after that.

Ash carried you to Korrina's room and he took a seat, while you were in his arms. "What's wrong with Y/N? She's always active," Iris said. "Ugh, she got a stupid nightmare last night and stayed up all night," Ash explained. "And now she's asleep."

"Nightmare? What was the nightmare about?" Korrina asked. "Uhhh, you know," Ash panicked and blurted, while gesturing the stuff to Korrina. "Oh OHHHHHH, I see, uhh let's move on, shall we?" Korrina hesitantly said, not wanting to spill the beans.

You were asleep most of the time but Ash just had to wake you up when it was time to go, which you weren't fond of. And as a bonus of showing him that you didn't like that, you gently pushed his face with your palms when he woke you up.

~Next day~

"ASH WAKE UP YOU'RE LATE FOR SCHOOL," you screamed. This morning, you were full of energy and ready to go.

"WHATT??? WHY DIDN'T YOU WA-...it's only 7:00 AM, and you call that late?" Ash whined. You kissed his cheeks and gave him a hug to stop any complaining from him. He blushed and hurried his morning routine so you wouldn't have to wait.

~Time Skip~

It was time for your third class, just right before lunch. "Hey Y/N!!! Wait up!!!!" Dawn called. She wasn't with Serena, which was a surprise. "Oh hey," you said and waved.

You guys started walking towards the lunch area. "I am going to kill you," a voice echoed so softly that only you could hear. You suddenly stopped in your tracks. "Y/N, what's wrong," Ash asked.

"Nothing," you said, but you doubted that nothing was happening. "Lets go," Ash said, as he took your hand for comfort.

"I'm still here, you know. You're not safe yet," the voice darkly said. "What?!" you cried as you stopped and looked at your surroundings. "You sure you're alright?" Ash questioned. "Uhhh....yeah," you stammered.

Suddenly, someone grabbed you and strangled you to an agonizing position and you screamed. "Y/N!!!" Ash cried.

You thrashed around but it was a mistake. The two guys gripped onto your arms harder. You looked to your side. "You guys are from the party," you whispered. "Yeah, we tricked that blond weakling, and we're from Team Flare. AND!!! Paul is going to assassinate you so shut up," one of them said.

Suddenly, Paul emerged out of nowhere. Some students ran away from fear and a few of them ran to get a teacher and one of them stayed to call the cops.

Paul held two knives in his hands; one in each hand. "Now the boss's son is going to assassinate you, have a painful death," one of them smirked. Ash tried to push his way over to you but he got punched in the stomach and fell back. "You're not killing her," Ash yelled and got back up.

Another guy from the party came and pinned Ash to the wall and grabbed his neck. "Let...me go!!!" he choked. You gasped. "Let him go, you can kill me but don't hurt him!!!"

Paul came close to you and prepared to slice your neck off. Dawn kicked the guy who pinned Ash to the wall and freed him. "No!" he shouted, as he came over to you.

At the same time, Paul was in the middle of trying to stab you. Ash jumped into the middle of you and Paul, his back half facing Paul, and took the hit. One if the knives went into his left arm, while the other one, in his back.

He screamed and collapsed forward into your arms. You grabbed your gun out in vexation and quickly shot the Team Flare members. "No!!" Paul whined. "I hate you Y/N"

"Ash how much does it hurt?" you asked while tears flowed out of your eyes. "A lot, I'm sorry Y/N," Ash whispered.

What will you do? Is Ash dead? Will you suffer from a trauma? Will you suffer depression? Is this too much for you? What will you do in the future?

The future lies ahead...
